So how is a mini supposed to feel? Like a modern ep3? But turbo? |
It’s a very different feeling imo. EP3 and FK8 are about mechanical harmony - the light yet chatty steering, good shifter for FWD, and chassis are a choir singing the same song. It’s like a herd of dolphins. F56 S I drove is a squirrel on three shots of espresso. You’re there for the instant torque hit, steering that’s a bit faster than it should be, slight over damping that makes every sprint and reaction you ask for addictive. The Honda dances, the Mini punches. The Honda is a symphony, the Mini is a solo riff. The Honda wants you to slow your senses down and appreciate it, the Mini wants you to grab it by the collar and make it work. |
I believe the correct term for a group of dolphins is a “pod” or “school” :accepted: |
THE FUCK did you just compare a car to a bunch of dolphins you crazy ass mop head!? |

How safe is that jack, where's it touching the car..... I guess it also depends on where your oil comes out + which part you're trying to remove, cough exhaust. :considered: |

First thing I did was ask mikoyan how I can make it faster. I went to pick this up half expecting this guy to also own a LC (why else would you buy the power toy ?). Turns out he’s just a fanboy. |
He must've been foaming |

Interesting, MK7.5R interior being more premium than FL5? I had the 7.5R for an extended period of time and one of my largest complaints about that car was the materials used in the interior - creaky door panels, cheap switches, etc. I wasn't very impressed. I don't think the FK8 interior is good either - I complain about that too. But I was very impressed with the interior quality (at least visually) and material choice used in the FL5. |
I'm finding the FL5 interior creaks a bit lol, my passenger vent is vibrating (which apparently is pretty common) so I need to get that fixed. I didn't really have any creaky door panels in my 7.5R. The door cards on the FL5 is a little bit nicer with the Alcantara. |

- sound insulation so shitty concrete US highways/crap asphalt only 40% blow your eardrums, not 110% - removable rubber liners for cup holder and phone cubby, easy cleaning - felt in the door panel area that holds water bottle - switchgear better than W211/212; especially the lights and mirrors - no gloss black, any solid surfaces are textured - padded and stitched armrests, top of door, etc FL5 closes the gap and has much nicer seats but … steering wheel/screens/big hard plastic surfaces on console are still noticeably cheaper. Gotta remember, MK7 was so good that MB delayed the launch of W205 C class by a year. |
well the mk8 and 8.5 is a piece of dog shit wrapped in kraut cabage and smothered in currywurst sauce. Cost cutting so god damn apparent that i took over 1 hour ripping them a new asshole on my JD power survey. So your FL5 is still miles better. |
