i still dont understand keeping the option of mid-grade though, when's that last factory vehicle or tune that specified to fill 89? the cost to having that 3rd option that's not diesel must amount to something

Midgrade is just a blend of reg and premium so it does not require a separate tank. A number of people who have cars that require premium put in midgrade.

bcrdukes 07-27-2025 05:50 PM

Just as a reference point, what percent of 89 octane do you guys sell compared to 87 and 91+?

whitev70r 07-27-2025 06:03 PM

89 still available in 604 ... except for Shell. Outside Metro Van, I've seen Shell offer 89.

noclue 07-27-2025 07:16 PM

I can only think of hemi V8 that recommends 89oct even though everyone uses 87oct anyway, wonder who buys it as well

Around 3%. But it's built into the pumps so there is not much extra cost to set it up.

Badhobz 07-28-2025 05:40 AM

manic so are the additives already mixed in when you receive delivery of the fuel, or do you guys have to add it yourself into the pump?

I can't remember the name of it, but isn't there a specialty gas station in North Van that plays along the theme of this?

Edit: It used to be called Arcade Gas, but has since been converted to what is now known as Isetta.

RabidRat 07-28-2025 12:54 PM

Ok well they should convert it back. 3rd wave coffee? No. 3rd wave gas.

We don't add anything. I believe they are added when the truck picks up the fuel from the fuel terminal. We get deliveries at various times including the middle of the night. It would suck to have to get up in the middle of the night to add additives.

Badhobz 07-28-2025 04:01 PM

Dats what I thought. I’ve never seen them do anything besides stick a hose down the ground and pump fuel. I’m sure adding the secret “stuff” is done by some higher up shmoe who has a degree in mixology

roastpuff 07-28-2025 04:46 PM

My car only takes craft mixed gasoline, shaken not stirred.

Manic! 07-28-2025 06:24 PM

Faraday Future the EV car company that has sold a total of 20 cars has a new vehicle coming out. It's a PHEV called the the FX Super One. It's a Chinese luxury van made my great wall motors called the Wey Alpine 9 that will be disassembled, sent to America and then reassembled. The US version will have something different than the Chinese version. It will have an AI screen on the front of the car. Just what everyone wants.

yeah not the gas station owner, but what about the truck driver? could he possibly be the one adding it at the time of delivery?

i.e. that would mean one driver delivers the same raw product to 3 different brands of gas station, but he adds some special stuff depending on the brand's recipe?

I have never seen the drivers add anything. The tankers have multiple compartments. So they can carry different types of fuel. Next time I see a driver I will ask them when the additives are added.

trollface 07-29-2025 05:35 AM

This one time a truck driver added too much Techron to the Shell 93 and my Golf reved to 9k and got Vtech for a full tank.

Spoiler!

Here - you can get one for yourself as a cheap Murano vert replacement

roastpuff 07-30-2025 10:49 AM

Why does MB have THREE (3) cabin air filters on this ML350?

Why?

Badhobz 07-30-2025 11:02 AM

does it also have a MB "scent" canister so you can refill the smugness?

roastpuff 07-30-2025 01:41 PM

It’s not new enough for that, in this gen that smug smell was S class only.

It does have that mid-2010s German crayon plastic smell though.

Oh damn I know exactly the smell you're talking about. Why is it that?!

yray 07-30-2025 06:26 PM

anyone noticing that more people are making right turns from big streets into smaller street from the flowing portion of the right lane instead of pulling over on the the parking portion of the lane

I thought the icbc book said to occupy into the parking portion so you can block out bikes on coming up from behind
