A discontinued Blitz NUR Spec R midpipe and axleback for the GTFour, the exhaust I originally wanted but couldn't find when my stock exhaust exploded.

Not impressed with what this ended up costing me, should have gotten it locally (Or attempted to make my own Stainless version, seriously like 2 bends in the whole thing!) but I'm pretty pumped to get it on the Z. Carb rebuild kit was expensive, but comes with all the advice I require over the phone. Now, and in the future.
2.5" Mandrel bent exhaust, new exhaust and intake manifold studs, NOS Datsun inner shift boot for the auto to manual swap, Ztherapy carb rebuild kit.

Was stuck between purchasing an OEM rear air deflector or an EDM DC2 rear fog light, ended up impulse buying these two things instead. I put car audio upgrades on the back burner a few months ago when my car needed a lot of suspension work. Now that that's all done (almost...seized inner tie rod shipping), I can focus on car audio again.

Already have upgraded Pioneer coax in all four doors, but the stock tweeters are still working up front so I effectively have four tweeters in the front right now :fuckthatshit: so front components will remedy that. Will move my front coax into the rear which is a set with the front components, and sell the older rear coax. Keeping the stock sub and just using the micro amp to power that with a tiny bit more juice than the shitty stock amp, which is all it can really handle before blowing. If I still find the bass insufficient (in terms of quality and deepness more so than earth shattering bass), I'll get a single 8-inch shallow mount sub and stick it in the back.
Undecided on HU, don't know if I want to drop a ton on a 2DIN with a touchscreen or just stick with a simple but higher-end 1DIN. I'm leaning towards the latter due to the fact that a 2DIN touchscreen will end up just being one more unnecessary distraction and a higher-end 1DIN includes all the functions I need anyway including mainly BT and Siri Eyes Free at a much lower price.
Man I spent a lot more than I expected

For whatever reason, due to either worn trailing arm bushings on one side, a bent subframe or otherwise worn suspension components, I have uneven camber when lowered the same amount on both sides. LR is -5 degrees and RR is -4.2 degrees with no adjustability, and there is a visible difference when viewing the car from the rear which is driving me nuts :fuuuuu:
$85 CAD later, problem solved :alonehappy: arriving on the 24th, installing on the 25th. Looking to get the RR to match the LR's -5 degrees of camber.

these tires will used exclusively for street driving and snow days
my old set of r888 heat cycled out but still has tread for street driving - sadly too thin now
werent too happy with the r888 lasting only 5 track days going to give the nt01 a try as they are a similar compound to the ra1 which is suppose to last longer

let me know how they feel?
They're on my accord, but a bit too noisy when cornering hard.
Tires feel great so far with all this rain, its great for Vancouver weather. A definite improvement from my last set of hankook v12 summer tires.
The ride feels more firm, steering is better and yes theres more road noise from these tires. Then again the s2000 cabin is not great at keeping out road/tire noise.
On topic, I got a oem replica spoiler as well. Paint match is good for the price paid.

If you're going to do LED signals go for VLED V3 tritons. Yes they are expensive at 150/set but they are as bright as some OEM LED turn setups. I went through a bunch of ebay leds until i decided to do it properly for once.
I dont agree with LED signals = rice.
LED flash rates IMO makes a car look even cleaner. They way the reflect off street signs are pretty cool. I guess if you use cheapo ebay signals with no proper relay mods and having them hyperflash like crazy then its pretty rice FailFish

Couldn't agree with you more. Getting into the little details now since I'm done with all the big things I've wanted to do with the Element. This is one of those details. I have a Tridon EP34 flasher to deal with the hyperflash.
Also for the rear fog, I'm not running a higher wattage bulb, simply taking my existing red incandescent signal and placing it into my driver's side reverse socket and rewiring that to my brake lights. Not going to be anywhere near the actual brightness of those European law-mandated rear fogs. Going to be covering the driver's side clear reverse lens area with red LaminX so that will further dim the bulb.
My inspiration:

I'm one of those OCD guys who frequently checks all the exterior lights of my car to see if they're all working, including the reverse bulbs by putting the car into reverse and putting on the ebrake. One of the advantages of an auto trans :troll: so that would be a non-issue for me
Also Element rear bumper has a plastic crash bar that would need to be removed altogether or removed and a portion cut off.
http://img.youtube.com/vi/nYKzxWgSzOQ/0.jpg
Already thought of that ages ago, but would prefer something more integrated and OEM looking like a lot of EDM/UKDM modern Hondas.

This. The car is so well balanced with the 255's i'm running now I just couldn't upset that by going to a staggered fitment. I still wanted more mechanical grip though, so I just went with 275's square. :lawl:

Brought a creeper from princess auto to work on my cars. Proceed to change the oil on one of my civic. Discover that the creeper isn't nearly low profile enough. Barely had room to work down there and this is on my highest car. Had to max out my jackstand. Add to that my low profile jack is now getting weaker and weaker.
Working on a creeper beats working on my mom's throwaway carpet though!! Soo target now is to get a good low profile jack that can jack my car up 2 stories high lol. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Most low profile jacks I've seen lift about 15" max, but the CDN Tire has a low profile Michelin jack which can lift 24". The kicker is that it costs $300.
Michelin 2 Ton Low Profile High Lift Service Jack | Canadian Tire (http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/michelin-2-ton-low-profile-high-lift-service-jack-0091052p.html#.VSaZW_CiA9h)
I gave up doing my own oil changes on my EF when I switched over to a B18 (lower oil filter position). With the tools I have on hand (low-pro jack and jack stands), there isn't enough clearance to torque off the oil filter. My elbow was on the floor and I could still touch the oil filter.
I felt like a T-Rex trying to open a jar of pickles, it just wasn't going to happen.

I just use two jacks to get the car up higher, or drive it onto some blocks of wood so my taller jack fits.
threezero
04-09-2015, 11:49 AM
^yea that what i do now. Use the low profil to get it on to the stands first and than use the heavy duty jack to lift it up to max height. And than the reverse to get it back on the ground. My low profile jack is failing and was wishing for something to replace both jack... Maneuvering around 2 jacks isn't a very elegant solution

I was in the same boat as you before @threezero i had that low profile aluminum jack and it wouldnt let me raise it high enough to be able to use a creeper but not until i bought that 2 ton michelin jack @boibhudda posted.
Best jack ever! Its so solid compare to my old jack it feels strong and allows me to raise the car way higher now
Even raising an suv it doesnt feel like its gonna break into 2 compare to my old one lol.
And the best part about it i dont need to use 2 by 4 anymore to slide the jack under the car

After my engine swap, the upper rad port is on the wrong side. To modify the port to the correct side was half the price of a nice, new Koyo, so might as well upgrade. Half the weight, twice the cooling.
+1 for the guys at Garage5. Same price as Ebay sellers, without going to the States and quick turnaround for an oddball part.

Pretty sure I have bolts that are the same size as your block-> bellhousing but longer.

haha, damn! Craigslist purchase! Thanks for the offer though. A little time pressure of having someone else's stand probably would have been good for me though. ha
Edit: Just saw the comment about the bolts. I have to take a look at my block a little closer to see where this will bolt up. I think they were M10 1.5. Length? I don't have a clue, but I do know the top bolts need to be a bit shorter then the bottom. I guess some washers could take up the slack.

Except I won't need it for a really long time lol
Plus, I only put stuff on stands while I'm actually working on them. Spares get strapped onto wheel dollies so I can push them around the garage, since they take up less space.

Yep, the only gasket that hadn't been removed was the headgasket. 180k isn't that high for a Toyota but I don't want to have to worry about it again for a long time.
Head gasket will be from HKS or TRD (depends how much they need to shave), studs and rod hardware from ARP, pistons will be either Wiseco/CP or the originals depending on the machine work. I think I might be able to get away without boring out the cylinders but my mechanic isn't so sure.

What'd you do to your engine? Rebuilding it for preventative measures or did you damage it? Anyhow, I'm rocking the Cometic HG, Wiseco pistons and ARP hardware; it's held up well so far. Would recommend. :bigthumb:

I didn't do anything, but it had to come out for the power steering system to get rebuilt and it snowballed from there since it's so much work to pull the motor. I'm really hoping that somehow the block just needs a hone and I can reuse the rotating assembly but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Lol I see, the "Might as well" part has taken over, haha. For 180k km, the crank should be fine, maybe a little machining but reusable nonetheless.
Your 3S should be a gen 2, right? Buy some 3rd gen 3SGTE cams; it's a little bump in low end torque that's pretty cheap, and OEM reliable. I got mine used out of a JDM clip with less than 80k km on it for $100 shipped. :D

It's A Flex A Lite variable speed controller. It basically starts at 60% and ramps up as needed. I got a skookum deal on it, otherwise I would've sprung for the DCC (Delta Current Control) FK-45, which a lot of people swear by.

Before you drill/tap the t-stat housing, have you considered a rad hose adapter? You can get them from $7-$40 and since the bungs are already imperial, at most you'll need a thread reducer for the sensor.

In terms of your fan turning on late, is the probe closer to the in or outlet?

I wish I had done more research when I put my fans in. Second thought, I wish I had kept my mechanical fan. haha.
The temterature probe is directly below the inlet. When I use my laser thermo, the fan wasn't turning on until over 200 degrees (It was a 180 degree setup). Which is why I now have an adjustable unit. Still adjusting it to come on at the proper time though. As for the thermostat housing, my new motor has a bunch of extra bungs from either emissions systems, or fuel inject or who knows. I won't be using them, so putting the probe there should work out nicely. I just read about those radiator necks literally last week. That should have been my plan A!

No one is gonna put the care on your car like you would.
It doesn't matter if the tech/shop has alot of experience that doesn't mean they will be careful with your car.
9/10 if they mess up something on your car and you dont know a lick shit about cars they will take advantage of that.

Haha, no sir, not first time doing oil change; but.. it will be first time on the 135. The thing is my car is still on the BMW free maintenance but this is my 4th year expiring in Aug and the car is telling me I don't have to change oil until next summer, but by then I will not have free oil change anymore. It is stupidly long. Then seeing Jackp0t work on his car, I just pull myself together to do the oil change now. I doubt they will change the oil for free in Aug for me.
I just order a CTA cap wrench from amazon.ca, which I think is cheaper than amazon.com

So very true, it's stupid how a shop can mess up an easy job. Unfortunately I have to juggle how much time I have verses paying someone to do the work. Luckily summer days are much longer, giving more time to do things after kids go to bed.
Yeah, I picked up the CL deal because I was just about to pick up the oil from the states (btw, Walmart, in the States, carries the Mobil European LL-01 oil for $26/gallon only). What he offered was a very good deal, so why not. :)

VLED Tritons ftw. Still nothing I've seen are brighter than those.
Yup...got them on all corners on the mazda (switchback fronts as my DRL) and you can see that chit from space. They are the only ones that still come through with direct mid day sun shining on them.
My 80w Cree rear signals are surprisingly bright, can still see them in direct sunlight rather well!
And the VLED side firing LEDs for my side markers are insanely bright for how small they are as well.
Also this. Going catless :megusta: will just need to get a custom fab test pipe.

^ Or you could pick up an adjustable test pipe? Like a BWR or Blox...
Depending on where you go, or if you have a hook up at an exhaust shop/etc, the adjustable one might end up being a bit cheaper...

I was quoted around 3-4 hours for the header install and test pipe fab.

Both the BWR and Blox adjustable test pipes are for the old D/H/B series engines with the donut style flange, not for the 3 bolt flange for K series engines. Nothing like that exists for K series engines.

Why not?

Hmm, you would think they would have something for the K exhausts at this point.
Oh well, that sounds pretty fair for install and fab.
Akinari
05-26-2015, 09:20 AM
Well, there isn't a need to have an adjustable test pipe made for K motors really because race headers already delete the cat and just have the catback bolt onto the end of it, whereas I'm using sort of a universal K swap K-Tuned header in a car that has a longer exhaust setup than most, so I still need to install a test pipe to replace the cat or extend the catback up to the header :derp:

hey akinari, I just had a catback system and Megan test pipe installed on my 05 acura TSX W/ k24, if it uses the same weird 3 bolt flange for the header then you might be able to use the same test pipe I did. the Megan racing test pipe is meant for 02-08 accords with a k24 but I just had to shorten it about 1" to make it work

Will lower it on wheels, decided on 18" OZ Superturismo's in matte graphite for winter... still looking for summers, I hate the OEM Cadiz wheels. (Hence why I stole someones pic with OZ's)
If I have to settle with having one car for a while it might as well be AWD and a little quicker than my current GTI :)
Arrives early Aug - pissed that sunroof is not yet an option.. then again, loaded with DSG, Tech, and Sunroof the car would be almost 50K like WTF, it's a golf

We tried to do it last year but the first reg got trashed after the final test sweep but before the rally so we were forced to pull out after the first reg to prevent damage to the car. Because something like 1/4 of the cars DNF'd last year the organizers are being very careful with road selection and so on.
