The Island section must be pretty fucking boring if the mods have nothing better to do than seek my posts out elsewhere.

However....to humour you I will spend the 2 minutes to explain:

I've lived on my own for about 5 1/2 years. At 20 bucks a month that's roughly 1300 bucks. I'm still ahead of the game. Besides, I incorrectly assumed that the policy extends to the HOUSE not the OWNER (which is the case in most instances).

bmwwheelman 02-20-2006 05:09 PM

now whos the genius here, you or him... i dunno...

jeffh 02-20-2006 05:39 PM

i dunno about him but my renters insurance deductable is $1000 for the first year. so its pretty much useless.

Wasteland 02-20-2006 05:53 PM

Thanks, Jeff. That's another point I was going to make. As with any insurance, the lower the payments the higher the deductible is.

And, as a full-time broke-ass student, as sarcastic as his "splurge" remark was, for me 20+ bucks a month every month is fairly substantial, especially when if you stole EVERYTHING from my room it wouldn't add up to the thousand-dollar deductible.

Man, that's a depressing thought haha.

my 10 minute commute home took over an hour.

highway 33 was closed at my road. and my road was full of cars parked sideways. took two tries to get up it. theres been a truck in front of my house with his foot to the floor not going anywhere for about 15 minutes.

sounds like my road... it's about a km long with a 90degree bend right at the bottom of the slope so you can't really take a run at it. When i came home all i could see is reflection on the surface, and i have no clue how i made it up the hill with my summers on, and not too much spinning, although i did get stuck in my own driveway momentarily! lol

Wasteland 02-23-2006 06:53 PM

ugh...fucking Riversyde auto sucks ass. I had them replace the slave when it was fucked (woulda done it myself if it wasn't for the 5" of snow on the road at the time), and ever since then it's sucked ass. been back 3 or 4 times to get them to bleed it and it's always lasted a couple days then fucked up.

So today a buddy of mine got me into his shop and the 2 of us started looking at it...sure enough...the line leading to the slave was leaking like a motherfucker (Riversyde said my master was fucked...idiots). Looks like they reefed on it so hard that they busted the flange/flare off the end of the line (we took the line off and it came off in 2 pieces). And it was VISIBLY leaking even when I wasn't pushing on the clutch.

Either way...he got me a killer deal on a line (120 from GM, I paid less than 35) and we tossed it on...I bought him some beer and all is good.

Moral of the story: every time I get someone else to do something on my truck they fuck it up.

I took the backroads home, that was all good. I came out at Garner by the church. Once I got onto the highway it was HELL. I honestly could have skated HOME with a pair of skates.

My car died. The lights were dim, and after I turned my lights on and off a couple of time the stereo shut off. Driving down the highway I started loosing power. We were going to turn into the gas station right below Sun Rivers but all of a sudden I felt the power come back and thought we could make it to my house. Turns out that surge only lasted a couple of seconds. I pulled a u-turn on the highway and managed to get it to the gas station...

Getting out of the car set off my alarm, and I couldn't shut it off :S Got a tow, and luckily it was the great and wonderful Bren (wsodtt, or something like that) that was the driver, so I didn't get creeped out, lol..

Not too happy though. Hopefully it's just my alternator and nothing else :S

I never said I didn't believe you.... I thought that maybe it was the belt slipping because of the light turning off after awhile. Now I just have to wait until tomorrow so I can go get it from Napa

fourtirefire 02-26-2006 09:27 AM

ahh isee.. sometimes alternators dieing can be intermittent though... it's shitty either way
