holy fuck my celica is a bitch to work on. to replace a small coolant hose with a hole in it ive had to remove the upper rad hose, the air intake, the massive MAF sensor, the bov and its various connections, and i still can't access the hose. now i have to remove the battery, and the starter, and then i can remove the intercooler hoses (its water cooled) so i will finally have access to this tiny 4 inch hose with a 90' bend.

and im also in the middle of replacing the thermostat. i had to remove the alternator, the turbo heat shield, the oil filter, and if i can't get this seized nut off the housing, i might have to remove the a/c for even better access

on another note, what the hell was toyota thinking by having the oil filter so close to the turbo and facing up so when you replace it there is more chance of oil spilling all over the place

the one thing i never had to deal with in my bug because it is air-cooled is the one thing giving me the most headaches with my celica - the water cooling system. :flamemad:

STREET RACING IS BAD JEFF!

underscore 07-01-2007 01:07 PM

man if you're hating the GTE so bad give it to me ;). It would go very nicely into my 87 haha. yeah the t-stat is a bit of a bitch, if you hate the oil filter location you *can* get filter relocation kits, they aren't too expensive. I never had any trouble with the oil spilling on my GE, you just have to wait long enough for it to drain out nicely.

Bouncing Bettys 07-04-2007 11:29 PM

sweet :( i finally got my all trac running and decide to make sure my overheating problem was fixed for good (it was) with a test drive. while driving around i ended up killing a cat that ran infront of my path - right infront of the house of the family (with young children) that own it. i feel pretty shitty right now.

They just signed on Ross Rebagliati as the head of snowboarding operations.

This could be an affordable option to enter the world of winter sports for beginners.

Delerious 07-07-2007 12:43 PM

lol sweet! "come ski here for the 2 weeks where we've actually got enough snow this low"

down_hill_dog 07-07-2007 02:22 PM

I actually talked to the director of operations today. And I was leary of their ideas until I actually talked to him and heard what he had to say. Apparently as long as it is zero degrees out or colder they plan on making ALL of the snow that they will have. It packs better, grooms easier and lasts longer is what they are saying. The runs will be groomed first with a product called astro ride, so very little snow will be needed. Just enough to make it realistic they say. Summer time activities are planned to include downhill mountainbiking aswell, so it should be an all year round facility.

Needless to say i'm no longer skeptical about what they have planned. Now i'd just like to see it happen.

ColinK 07-07-2007 02:23 PM

hmm...I wonder if all the lots are gonna be bareland strata then. If they are, the strata fee is gonna be flippin high!
