Kelly, That's a beauty setup right there.. Can't wait to see pics of the finished swap.. How much boost do you plan on running?

sr20canuck 09-08-2004 09:10 AM

I'll probably keep it down around the stock 7 or 8 psi until I get the engine and clutch broken in (not to mention I have yet to decide on a boost controller..any suggestions?? I like apexi but wouldn't mind some input )

build your own... mine keeps a constant boost level without creeping, easy to adjust, and cost me ~17 dollars to build

fourtirefire 09-09-2004 10:35 PM

proshoraca and i removed the transfer case, tranny, exhaust, random other shit in the way..got off my flywheel in 3 hours, luckily the clutch disc was only worn thru to the rivets on the pressure plate side, so my flywheel was spared, get it machined tomorrow and thrower all back together tomorrow night

I saw a pic one time of a 1ga with a stock lightened flywheel that went through the fire wall and the dash and made a big mess of the hood.

Not exactly the greatest for AWD, or a stock DSM fly.

its not that easy, you cant just shave the shit off, you have to get it balanced after and thats not cheap

proceded to complete the installation of everything, fire up the car, put in the clutch... won't go in gear.. clutch is not disengaging...., need to rip everyfuckingthing out again and space out the clutch fork pivot mount to accomodate for a slightly thinner flywheel

Big Daddy 09-11-2004 10:01 AM

Picked up some 450CC DSM injectors...

proshoraca 09-12-2004 10:35 AM

picked up a very gangster Hurst Pro/Billet shifter action satisfaction today.

fourtirefire 09-12-2004 06:24 PM

drove my car...... finally!

down_hill_dog 09-12-2004 07:58 PM

I have 4 konigs on my car once again. Took the cracked wheel in tues. They dis mounted the tire, sent the wheel to Konig in Sacremento Calif, They sent a new one back and Fountain had the wheel mounted and balanced for saturday afternoon. Props to Konig and Fountain Tire on the westside for a speedy turn around. "Manufacturers defects"... lol

Today I re-painted my rear calipers, did some misc. cleaning. Re-painted the muffler black and added some antifreeze. I love having such high compression I can't keep headgaskets in the car. I love being able to accelerate up a hill the same speed at which I would on the flat.

just thinking here.. did you ever get your block machined as well as the head?, could be a cause for some leakage there if it isn't perfectly flat

down_hill_dog 09-13-2004 12:47 AM

was done before yes..... next spring if i end up keeping the car it is going to see a full turn around. I'm going to do a rebuild to just freshen her up, copper headgasket, cam it and thats all. Suspension wise i want to get come tokico blues for the front, cause my KYB's are getting worn out. After that some new tires, CV shafts, bushings and lets go racin

down_hill_dog 09-13-2004 04:22 PM

Tchleung 09-16-2004 05:04 PM
