down_hill_dog 10-22-2004 07:57 PM

unlike you, i don't have to prance around town in boost, making up for things which are smaller. :haha:

my car is fucked.. craigs car is just as fast now.. anyone have any suggestions as to why it would run uber lean all the time, yet go thru fuckloads of gas??

Tchleung 10-22-2004 08:49 PM

How do you know your car is uber lean?

down_hill_dog 10-22-2004 10:04 PM

just as fast now? it should be, many MANY things have changed since the car changed hands. Even when your car was running good you could'nt take Paco by very much, i think the Talon is about the same speed as always... It's just that the Isuzu is getting faster by the day.

jaques 10-22-2004 10:12 PM

The real reason your car is faster than his is...................................

" SPEED HOLES "

just teasin', good to hear it is finally running well.:)

down_hill_dog 10-23-2004 12:00 AM

yeahyeah cody, i know shes a little ugly right now but you don;t have to point it out. lol. But thanks buddy, i'll have to take ya for a rip soon. It pulls real hard. Oh hey and i'd really like to recheck the torque on those headbolts. Gimme a shout one day when your not crazy busy.

proshoraca 10-23-2004 04:06 AM

paco's car was pretty goddam slow. when it was runing good ran a 15.9 at 87mph. that is not fast. but that was before some volvo intercooler and whatever else the shit was done. cant see it being that much faster, but for the price good bang/buck for sure.

proshoraca 10-23-2004 04:08 AM

i'd rather pay the same price, get a domestic, run faster, with 100more ftlbs of trq, no worse gas mileage, but just the common car factor sucks i guess.

Tchleung 10-23-2004 06:37 AM

how much boost you running DHD?

my car is just fucked... bogging like crazy, exhaust manifold glowing from normal daily driving non-boosted... i believe an 89.99 new O2 sensor is the fix i need.

down_hill_dog 10-23-2004 03:18 PM

Ryan, since you've seen it run that, the car recieved the volvo intercooler, all stainless IC piping, turbo xs bov, boost controller, and now the head has been all cleaned up, the butterfly secondaries are hooked up again, and boost is at 14 psi. Stock was a measly 8? And 15.9, must'nt have been running good because BONE stock they ran a 15.2. We'll have to see what the 1/4 mile brings next year.

proshoraca 10-23-2004 04:45 PM

right on must go pretty good now. good for some winter driving for sure haha

girlcrazy_4 10-23-2004 04:48 PM

Craig; I've noticed that every time I drive by your place, your hood is ALWAYS open. Is this a new meaning to "airing out the engine"? or do you just like to walk by your car, over and over and look at how cool it looks under there.

fourtirefire 10-23-2004 06:55 PM

mod of the day... made my car run properly again, holy crap it's faster than ever before on low boost even

all it took was an O2 sensor.

Nice, time for some backroading there danny... wooooot

Once i get my downpipe fixed so it's not crushed to 1 3/4" we'll have to have a side by side.

proshoraca 10-24-2004 01:45 AM

my bets on the talon strait line for sure no doubt

heh.. i predict an uzzi in my rearview mirror! :D

girlcrazy_4 10-24-2004 10:01 PM

I decided to do some work on the bike today after it sat sadly with a flat rear tire. I spend some precious time taking the rear rim off of the bike, than hassling taking the tire off the rim. I finally pull out the tube, put the new tube in, clean inside the rim and tire, fix the spring that connects the two brake shoes, heavely grease all the parts and assemble everything.

I also did a mental note on the front pads and caliper. Last time I went riding I was up a hour into the hills. After riding the brakes the whole way down, the front rotor seems to have turned blue and the pads are down to the rivets :(

Once we hit the corners i'll be within inches of your bumper with the high beams a blazing. Drag racing is for v-8's.. Once i get my timing set properly and get a new downpipe and flex pipe in it's going to be damn close.

That's a thing of the past with what can be done to I4's now, especially FI I4's as I'm sure you're aware.

88 5.0cobra 10-25-2004 11:12 AM

u can make a 4 cylinder go fast for a quarter mile, but u can make a v8 go even faster, easier
