I've never seen a 'drift' car with matching wheels.

no worries, these wheels are just temporary. next summer i hope to run 17x9 +16 and 245/45/17 on all 4 corners. i got the weds for pretty cheap, and they fit my current tires so why not.

down_hill_dog 10-08-2004 02:50 PM

thats going to look damn fine man. So stoked for next summer. If your thinking of selling your rotas gimme a holler when the time comes... I MAY be interested... 15's?

**edit you have the 16" rotas??? Damn i'm definately interested. Forsure hit me up when your ready to sellem. 4x100? and whats the offset?

Dos'nt matter, i would'nt mismatch wheels just to be like a drifter. I'd put super sweet matching wheels on the car just for sheer style.

HyperREV 10-08-2004 03:05 PM

my rota's are 16x7 4x114.3 +40mm, i think greg wants them, but if he bails and they fit your car i'll let them go cheap.

my main reason behind running mismatched wheels was the width/offset of the weds, allowing me to move my 25mm h&r spacers up front, dailing out some understeer and highspeed vibration caused by the shitty 5mm spacers im using right now. it isnt really to do with being/looking "drift"

but first i need camber plates to tuck the tires before i can run the h&r's up front.

down_hill_dog 10-08-2004 05:16 PM

ahh shit they won't fit my car then.. it's a 4x100 machine, maybe i'll buy greg's??? theyre dual 4 bolt pattern

i clearcoated my car, or part of it rather... it turned out alright, i used some kind of crazy acid wash on the metal then just sprayed on normal clearcoat.

Probably with a hammer and dolly? or cut the peice out and hammered it on a dolly until the peice was the right shape, spot welded it back in and ground down the welds perfectly?

Bodymen actually use metal files and it sorta moves the metal around. its called metal finishing, and takes a lot of practice to be good at it.
