mods today....(and yesterday) threw in a K&N air filter, noticeably louder BOV sound, not really noticeable performance increase
put on new accessory belts... got the interior light door sensors cleaned up and working again, put a fuse inline for the 8awg wire running to my fuel pump

factory is like 18 or something, and it's been proven that under high boost when lots of fuel is required the fuel pumps have been running at near 10 volts because of the puny wiring, the thicker wire keeps it right up there near 14 volts = more fuel

umm the fuel pump was rewired when i bought the car.. so no work for me, all i did was install a fuse for the cable so that if it does decide to short out, it won't start a fire

oh yeah mods of the day: washed car and waxed out some of the scratches in the hood with some mothers caranuba cleaner wax and some meguiars crystal stuff.. looks a bit better, just need to spend the time to do the whole car now..

oh yeah put in a manual boost controller, and running at 15 psi now

How are the manual boost controllers? Just wondering 'cause I heard that they are prone to getting boost spike. Is it worth getting one or hould I stick with getting an EVC from greddy or something?

Haha.. oh yeah. I might only have the cash to build the turbo kit 'cause pistons and what not are pretty friggin expensive for my car. I think I might just go with a electronic controller.. the Saturn motors can handle about 5psi max in stock form. the ring lands are kinda slim and pistons tend to "crush" if the boost is too much, so spiking would be a bad thing in my case. haha. if its able to hold 5psi steady it would be great my car would have no problems with that.

i ran around 8psi with my stock internals on my old car, the guy who bought it drove the fucking balls off of it on the test drive and she still held together. i was praying a rod didnt fly through my oil pan. my manual boost controller worked great didnt see any spikes.

I ran 10 psi unintercooled periodically on my 10:1 compression Rabbit motor, and it still seems to work. Not sure how I got away with it.

Manual boost controllers aren't really any more likely to spike than an electronic, just make sure to minimize the "inertia" of the line to the wastegate: the less line and the less volume of air, the shorter the delay to wastegate response and the smaller the spike.

My mod of the day was reattaching my blown intercooler pipe. After 3 days of no boost, it feels pretty damn nice.
