Does anyone else think that the elongated buses look like dildos?

mc25 11-25-2007 05:10 PM

no. not at all.they look like school buses...

that must be a fisheye lens though right?

Knowing Soundy, it's probably the "transform all long things into phalic (dildo) objects" lense. No question about that at all.

Umm, no, apparently just you... guess we know where your mind is.

Nope... EF-S 18-55mm (300D's kit lens).

!Aznboi128 11-25-2007 10:42 PM

^ wow a 18 did that?

on my 35mm i only got my 10mm to do pics so wide ..... or am i smoking but overall nice pic

Soundy 11-25-2007 10:51 PM

18mm on a 1.6X crop sensor gives you about the equivalent view to about 28mm on a 35mm frame.

It's not all that wide, really... I dunno why it looks so fisheyed, I think it's probably as much an optical illusion because of the perspective to the towers.

Actually, if you look at the tour bus behind the school buses, it's not very curved... remember that the street where those buses are is curved, so the two school buses aren't sitting in a "straight line" to each other, which probably makes the bottom of the picture look more curved than it really is.

Nice. What kinda settings did u use for those shots at the burrard pier?

Senna4ever 11-26-2007 05:09 PM

That place is called Burrard Pier? I used tungsten WB, but fiddled with it in Lightroom.

!MiKrofT 11-27-2007 11:29 AM

Yup. The Burrard Pier or the Burrard Dry dock.

cool picture! But the light in the windows look a little over saturated.

The second one is too busy for my liking

Senna4ever 11-28-2007 11:11 AM

The first one is nice and simple!

I kinda like this one better than the first one. the first one is a bit too simple for me somehow.

I like it.

Question, why is it when I first saw it, I thought of Nikon's logo? It could be because I know you shoot Nikon..but damn, subliminal messages!

GFunk 11-28-2007 05:27 PM

thanks for the comments

the room was actually that saturated from the camera, I guess I coulda toned it down a little but that's the way it actually came out

mc25 11-28-2007 05:59 PM

Nothing exceptional, just a quick snap of one of our cats to test out a new speedlight.
