Yeah, I have this thing for details :P I had to exchange my Nintendo DS cuz it had a dead pixel. The rep at Future Shop had to REALLY look to see the dead pixel haha :D

Never really tried shooting anything still life yet with my new flash other than this one today.

Strobist info - Vivitar 285HV on 1/16 pwr, gelled by 1/2 CTB. Bounced off wall, and had a white bounce card to camera right, near the wall

How did you get the back ground and glass underneath to be blueish, it looks great?
Im not very experienced at photoshop yet...(i assume thats how you did it?)

I used a gel on the flash to make the lighting blue, and enhanced it a bit in photoshop. Dot, do you have msn? I have a couple questions about the 20D.

What's the you've got taped to the underside of the table?

Some sort of black paper that I got with my lighting stuff. Its matte but it feels like tin foil or something, do you know the specific name?

In class we call it black wrap. we use it ghetto-ly also :) from snooting to being a lens hood on a large format camera :) works wonders

I wonder if theres a tutorial online to get that cool background you got as well(how it fades from dark on top to lighter at the bottom) and also eliminate everything else in your working area, except for the cup and water
