if you didn't update your wii to 2.2u fw before updating striker assuming you have a wiikey ~ chances are you might semi brick your wii ~ ie you will no longer be able to access the settings ~ and there's no fix for that yet ~ and more severe cases you could brick your wii ~ ie the opera screen with the error ~ randering your wii completely useless ~ before updating anything with the disc it is recommended to do some research first or risk bricking or semi bricking your wii

as for the cups ~ its a lot easier if you play with friends :)

hm.. i updated with the strikers game without updating to 2.2u a while ago.. so far my wii is perfectly fine. i can access settings and it still runs lol. there isnt any other things can could happen is there...?

as for playing with friends.. i do, but that bitch daisy is pissing me off lol. and DKs thunder slam too.

how do you do those specials..? like how mario grows, waluigi makes walls, bowser jr screams etc. the only thing bowser is able to do is breath fire but i rarely get that item. it seems like the computer gets abilities every 30 sec.

i cant wait for resident evil re: chronicles and re5

so is the fad and hype finally dying down?

I know a few friends that got a wii for at least half a year and there are no more wii parties and no one seems to touch their wii anymore...

yet they are still selling out to those that dont own one yet...

Hondaracer 07-21-2007 12:11 PM

The Wii's Virtual Console is a huge selling point as well, I've downloaded quite a few games, although havent played most of them, they will be great to go back and play whenever your bored etc.

for me, i've probably spent over 600$ on my Wii, and I cant say i'm disapointed or let down even if I do hardly play it anymore

ForbiddenX 07-22-2007 09:23 PM

Is the opera browser free? or does it cost wii points now?

SkinnyPupp 07-22-2007 10:30 PM

It costs points now

including

6 games
3 wii motes
1 Component cable
1 classic controller
VC points

forgamez 07-24-2007 11:59 AM

i planning to get a Wii in the next week or so...

I want to have 3 or 4 wii motes for friends. Is it necessary to buy a nunchuck for each wii mote you own?

How many games take advantage of the nunchuck ?

well depending on the game... most of the "mini-game" only require a wii mote...

you can also share... i have 2 wii motes/nunchucks and then 2 classic controllers...

the VC is very fun also... especially with friends... games like Street Fighter Turbo, Streets of Rage 2, Mario Bros and shit are fucken fun to re-play... especially with the same friends you played with when they first came out...

ForbiddenX 07-25-2007 09:43 PM

Hehe I finally got one!@!

LC21 07-25-2007 11:47 PM

what are the prices for wiikey to be installed and what are the prices for every burnt game?

CT10 07-28-2007 05:48 PM

I was wondering, if i decided to get a wiikey installed, will I have any problems upgrading the software/firmware of my wii later on?
Especially if the newer games require a firmware upgrade..

Most likely. Nintendo takes a very tough stance against pirating (they have already changed the hardware on the HK version of the Wii to make it harder to mod)

CT10 07-28-2007 11:15 PM

ouch that sucks...i might have to reconsider modding my wii now...

and most likely, the future wii games will require a firmware upgrade, right?

GT-[R] 07-31-2007 09:31 AM

yeah im going to wait a while, anything soldered onto my wii to let me play copied games, ill have to do alot of research on, its not like i cant afford to buy one or two games every year, which is the rate that nintendo seems to be working at... theres nothing out right now! lol...

dumpling 07-31-2007 05:53 PM

the guy at compc said modding the wii is pretty safe...
not sure if i could trust him though
and it's not cheap
it cost like $100 to mod and $5 each game....
anyway, i think i'll just wait

SkinnyPupp 07-31-2007 10:11 PM

Of course they're gonna say that :lol

ForbiddenX 08-02-2007 12:04 AM

is mario strikers any good?

was ot a bad idea for me to pre order metroid? should i switch the preorder and wait for a review

terkan 08-03-2007 04:20 PM

i'm pretty sure modding ur wii is 99% save ~ yes they are making the wii harder to mod ~ but why not just make a fw to render the chip useless in the first place ~ the most i ever see nintendo doing is follow the 360 route and ban the online play on the console if it ever comes to that which i highly doubt ~ and my god... 100bux to mod a wii ~ the chip only cost 30bux and they buy them in bulk... nice way to rip someone off for a 20min job ~

CRiXy 08-03-2007 07:49 PM

I just bought a Wii two days ago and got one of those legless ones (D2B chips).

Found an awesome modder on Craigslist who said they could do the legless mod.

His name is Gav and I went to his place in Surrey to do it. He does it out of a nice living room in his house. Super friendly and knowledgeable. Took around 40 minutes, but he has a TV or wireless Internet for you while you wait...

The mod came out perfect. Couldn't be happier with it.

ya i also picked it up... havent had a chance to play it yet but it looks fun... im not expecting to much out of it... one of those games you play for like 30m to a hr and turn it off and come back to it later.
