Thanks for the fails guys.. lol It's a Moto 360 that I bought for $110 at BestBuy..

$69.99 for the authentic Moto metal band..

And.. Free custom watch face...

The real Tag Connected is too pricey imo. I'm happy with my $110 smart watch

Anyway, having custom watch faces is part of the fun of having a smart watch.

You guys should check out this app.

"WatchMaker Premium"

Here's some custom faces that I have downloaded.

Looking to buy a watch around $1000 or less, something like the Seiko Divers automatic watch or similar to that. Any recommendations? I don't know too much about watches yet

Been to many watch places and they never seen such a nice good looking quality citizen before (they dont sell these local anymore or maybe never have based on a collection) citizen known for their cheap affordable watches (like seiko).

Don't get a fashion brand watch (IE Guess, Tommy). Then there is what type of watch you watch, do you want a leather strip or steel or titanium. Formal or sports. I always like Sekio and Citizen watch coz they seems pretty decent and don't break the bank. Then do want a watch that runs on battery, self winding, eco (charges with sunlight). etc etc. My suggestions is go online and look for some watches and see which one you like and start from there.

If our dollars weren't so shitty, I would really suggest the Seiko Marinemaster for a bit more than 1k. It's really worth every penny and it's the one I missed most out of 50+ watches that I've owned (tbh that and the Omega PO XL).

If you have to stay under 1k then I would suggest the Orient OS300 for a sporty diver with great wrist presence. Or the Seiko Sumo for a more dressy diver.

If you're willing to go slightly used, sometimes you can find some nice pre-owned Oris TT1 Divers for under a $1000 on ebay.

Local in Langley, used. Good quality automatic watch, One I was looking at before.

Picked her up yesterday from Rodan Jewellers in Brentwood... Wasn't planning a watch purchase but I just couldn't help myself. It's my first automatic so i'm simply ecstatic. Got my taste for Hamilton's here on RS and when I recognized them in Interstellar and The Martian that was it.

So far I've noticed a gain of 2 second in 2 hours. Over night (roughly 12hrs) it was at +6. Is this about normal? I have no idea how long the watch sat in the store but I did notice they had the crowns out/unscrewed on all their Hamilton's so that the hands didn't move. Anyway, I heard there's a break in period so a good month should be the true test. Otherwise I guess I can have it adjusted.

Tonight i'll lay er down and see how long she can go without stopping.

I absolutely hate the strap; it's just not for me. Going to be ordering a nato/perlon one - any suggestions highly appreciated! I'd be willing to sell this one (22mm)... if anyone wants it holler!

Yes that's normal... How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? I bought mine online and I was wondering what the difference in price is.

Nabs i'll dm you :)

Thanks! The Jazzmaster line up has some of their nicest watches imo!

I read in the instruction manual that the date can't be changed for the auto chrono or GMT's from 8pm-2am. Any idea why?

When you change the date be sure the watch is set to any time that is not 8PM to 2AM. Between these two times, the movement is using additional mechanisms to change the date, this will really screw up the mechanism of the watch if you try to set the date.

All watches are different so saying 8PM to 2AM is a wide range. For my Khaki King i just make sure its nowhere between 10PM and 2AM.

Also when changing the date and time on Hamilton watches, be sure to fast wind forward, it gets wonky when winding backwards, I thought I had broken my watch at one point when I didn't know how to set the dials by winding backwards.

I've been told that you can actually break a tooth on one of the gears if you try to change the date at those times.

nabs 01-26-2016 10:34 AM

^^^
A lot of high end watches are notorious for that. I heard Breitling watches cost and arm and a leg ($8k) to fix after a mistake like that.

If you are ever buying a used watch and the description says that it changes time at 6AM or something like that. You can guarantee that the seller tried to change the date between 10p and 2a.
