Just got the Seiko Alpinist. I am looking to buy a 2nd one to mod if anyone is interested in selling theirs for a reasonable price.

^ then it woulnd't be a g-shock... you're looking for a smart watch..

SiRV 06-20-2018 12:27 PM

Yes I know... But, before this watch existed, if I had asked for a gshock with gps / navigation capabilities, you would have said the same thing.

You just destroyed this thread lol

MC21: it's funny; everyone I know has pretty much the exact same watch as you do. The only one you got was the AP. He contemplated whether PP or AP, and he went the PP route.

Very cool collection.

whew, lovely AP. Royal Oaks have grown on me, used to think they looked too gaudy, but now I am in love with their bracelet xD

Welp, I have a serious issue.

I just received my new watch on Monday o___o... yes, ANOTHER watch.

Zelos Mako 500m diver; Bronze, Meteorite Dial. I bought it at the tail end of their launch price.

Been wanting a diver for a while, and wanted bronze case for fun. This also covers the meteorite dial search :P

Really loving this and have been wearing it since Monday. Probably my most visually interesting and fun watch so far!

My serious issue also extends to the fact that I walk around with my arm up in front of me so I can stare at the watch while walking around, rotating my wrist back and forth to catch different lighting, all the while dawning a idiotic grin on my face :D

Hublot's made AP's look classy lol. MC21 that Kermit is lovely, collectors have bumped up the price of the Hulk but imo the Kermit looks better.

Where do u guys service your rolex?

6793026 06-25-2018 07:25 AM

nice rolex freesole; the pepsi is my next one.

as to daval; service can always be done at monte cristo, however, the other place u can do it is Otto Friedl Ltd right below the Hotel Vancouver on the bottom floors.

How do you guys like the Jubilee bracelet as opposed to the Oyster bracelet?

Nice! I would love a 16710 but the BLNR came first so I'm going to have to stop for a while

I love the Jubilee. Extremely comfortable to wear and it hides any scuffs or light abrasions because of the smaller links. It is a bit flashier though.

Having said that, the Submariner oyster is super comfortable and easy to adjust. The perfect everyday steel bracelet in my opinion.

Have to disagree.. I really like the extra heft given by the daytona bracelet's solid links

I don't have a Daytona so I can't speak for that bracelet unless it is the same as the GMT bracelet. When I compare my BLNR bracelet to the Sub's, I prefer the Sub's oyster bracelet.

Nice BLNR what rubber strap do you have on it?

Yep, it's the strap from Everest. Expensive but very comfortable.

Don't know how I've not noticed this thread all these years.

I don't have anything fancy, more into the tinkering and restoring than collecting. Modded a Seiko a while back, "fifty five fathoms" with SII NH36 movement, but never got a proper strap for it. I have a bunch of nato straps I rotate through, but I never liked how they're always way too long with way too many keepers. Decided to make my own version this weekend with leather.

Recommendations for watch repair in Richmond? My daily emporio armani ar4656 has developed a weird issue in the movement. No issues 3 days ago, but pick it up today and it’s rattling on the weight. Wasn’t dropped or banged around so dunno how it happened.

Edit: I also am wondering somewhere local to get a purple watch band. Needing it as an accent colour.

Have anyone been to the German watchmaker for repairs?

I have a Tudor oyster date that the hands don’t move but the date still moves want to have someone look at it any recommendations?
