Have you been wearing it often? Try shaking it side to side (dial up) to wind it. The SKX007 don't have hand/manual winding, so you gotta shake and wear it to wind it. Unless you typed the wrong watch name. |
Edit: I'm an idiot |
I didn't know you guys were all here. So my buddy offered me his slot at the Patek AD for a 5711 in blue. They said he's pretty much next and will be contacting him within a month or two. I'm seriously thinking of pulling the trigger. |
^ nice watch. my friend got one and it took him a freaking 2 yrs to get one from the wait list. Customs is customs, pay it, get taxed and never look back. how much are you "saving" from overseas or its cause you were able to get in line that you wanted one. |
If anyone ever contemplates buying watch bands from cheapestnatostraps.com. DON'T Terrible quality. Going to do it right and buy straight from barton. |

This is strange...so you guys are right bout the SKX007. My watched stopped working a few months back and I brought it to a guy to replace the battery, which he did. Now it stopped working last week, so not sure what the issue is...as you guys say it shouldn't be a battery issue right? Anywhere I can bring it to get it diagnosed and fixed? |

I also bought a ~$20 leather nato from them, and it was horrible quality. Stitching fell off too. At the end, they are just a vendor that carries a bunch of different makes/models from different suppliers. Those suppliers are hit and miss. Their customer service is great too btw, (had a shipment that never arrived after a month, I emailed in and they resent a new package no questions asked). Quote:
But run away from any watchmaker who claims your SKX needs a new battery. EDIT: forgot to mention, SKX are now discontinued. Haven't looked up recent prices for them after the discontinued announcement, but worst case scenario, buy a new one (was priced around ~$200-300), if the service cost exceeds that. |

On another note.... over the moon!!!!! got the call for this bad boy today https://i.imgur.com/MvPRtkX.jpg |
FML, I'm an idiot, I mixed it up with another watch I replaced the battery with around the same time I got my watch. So in short, no I didn't replace the battery in my SKX007 but the watch stopped working randomly. Where should I get it diagnosed? |

What about Mr.W Workshop in Aberdeen Square? They helped with swapping over to an AR coated double domed crystal for my Skx007. https://www.mrwworkshop.com/ |
Didn't even realize there was a watch service shop there. Good to know. |
New Seiko 5 in-stock at the bay, currently on sale. Additional 25% off with promo code VIP if you have hbc card. https://www.thebay.com/Seiko-5-Sport...th35/Ne-6ja3nm |
Did the Seiko 5s increase in price ? I don't remember my costing more than 40 usd (snk809) |
So I got a call from the authorized PP dealer. Looks like my 5711 is queued up and ready to go. From all the pictures I’ve seen online it looks like the dial is super dark with only a hint of blue. Not like the website pictures where it looks more like an omega aqua Terra blue. |
Alternative way is have a Hamburg friend to bring it over for you. My x lives in Hamburg, man i wish i had a PP ready to go and have the cash; i would call her up for happy sake and fly her over ahhahaha. congrads on your possible purcahse. |
Found the Patek AD in Houston and low and behold a gold 5711 https://i.postimg.cc/7hM7BQvd/IMG-0775.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/pVDDXy9C/IMG-0770.jpg The rolex AD also had a Daytona in stock lawl. https://i.postimg.cc/YqMQ4kYH/IMG-0772.jpg If I didn't have my 5711 on order I'd probably pickup this one up. |
Must be nice to be rich! :alone: |
Damn! I'd snag that Daytona up right away. Maybe it's time I visit Houston |
What are your guy's thoughts on the Speedmaster 311.30.44.50.01.002? It seems to check off all the boxes of what is just a bit missing from the standard moonwatch: automatic winding, date window, COSC certification. But it seems to go for less than your standard moonwatch. Doing a bit of research the downsides are the larger 44mm modern speedy size and the debated 3313 movement. There's one available on CWC and I am tempted... https://www.omegawatches.com/media/c...45001002-l.png |
i love my speedy! such a historically significant piece. I prefer Hesilite acrylic glass and manual winding. The winding action is very smooth and feels amazing. If it was automatic i think it detracts quite a bit of the original intention for the watch. The saphire sandwich is also something im not a big fan of. |
