with all the negative DRM talk EA has decided to drop Online Passes for titles old and new.

same thing is happening on XBL...good on EA for the change, charging for online multiplayer in the used market is stupid

not buying anything on ps3 anymore, ps4 ftw.

ill buy psn though.

Ch28 06-12-2013 04:56 PM

Did the futureshop preorder deal for Watchdogs, EA UFC, and GTA 5.

GTA 5 is the last PS3 game I'll buy. Everything else is going to be PS4 going forward

.Renn.Sport 06-12-2013 07:46 PM

GT6 is probably the last game i'll buy

ForbiddenX 06-14-2013 02:46 PM

Does anyone have any experience with the Wireless headsets for the PS3? I have a $50 off coupon that I got with Last of Us and was wondering if it was worth it for $50.

online reviews were mostly positive. I have the same discount and will probably go for it.

edit - i called futureshop and confirmed that the code only works for the $149 model. they screwed up in the email and put the wrong product in.

It worked for me when I got the the $99 one. Works pretty well actually pretty good deal for $50. Can play late at night without bothering anyone lol

did you just go to the store? i tried it online because the email states not valid in-store. if it works in-store then i'm going up to get one.

I did an instore pick up and added the code when I had the chance to

Simulated 06-15-2013 03:28 PM

i tried the $149 (just to test things out) and the code didn't work for it either. this prompted me to call FS again and i'm glad i did. ordered the 99.99 one then she helped me put the code manually from her side. :D

i guess the girl from this morning just didn't know wtf she was talking about.

kchan 06-15-2013 03:57 PM

i ordered the $149 one, the pulse edition and it worked

i was debating on the $99 or $149 (old vs new)
after the reviews, i decided to get the pulse which is suppose to be better in most aspect

twitchyzero 06-15-2013 06:39 PM

both $100 and $150 ps3 headphones are great for the price...a steal if you can get $50 off
newer one has more features/better build qaulity but it's heavier and can get uncomfy after an hour.

I have the $50 off code to give away...preferrably for general/music tracker invites...PM me if you are a regular RS member (min 500 post count + 100 thanks)

i havent installed 4.45 but i do have issues lately with the ps3 freezing and requiring a forced restart

yogenfruz 06-19-2013 06:10 AM

Did it yesterday and have no problems thus far. I have the old 80GB version, and I've been reading it's happening to a lot of slim models.

I haven't updated yet. Thanks for the heads up. I'll make sure not to download until 4.46

GLOW 06-19-2013 07:33 AM

Renxo 06-19-2013 08:56 AM

Yup. Mine froze twice last night after the update... first time I've ever had to literally pull the plug in order to reboot.

I haven't modded my unit, and it seems the the majority of users who are getting bricked units have upgraded their HDD with an aftermarket spinner... so, knock on wood!

I haven't updated either but I can't remember if it auto updates?

I believe it tells you there is an update available.

From what I've read 90+% of the people having problems have large, aftermarket HDDs, which I doubt Sony would test for/with.

twitchyzero 06-19-2013 06:29 PM

there been so many updates where ppl have claimed it bricked their system
looks like this one's legit....i usually just update without hesitation good thing I caught this before updating.

underscore 06-19-2013 08:27 PM

Apparently the workaround is to boot into the service menu and redo the update through there. It's not really bricking systems, since they can still get to the service menu for a new update anyways.
