i wasn't a huge fan of the first one, even though it's a greatest hit now, i don't think i'd add the first one to my collection so i don't know how good the second will be.

Uncharted 2 looks promising though. i loved the first one. :)

probably wont have time for assassin creed 2.... everyone will be busy with MW2 and L4D2

NHL10 and Ninja Gaiden sigma 2 for me until bayonetta, dante's inferno and god of war 3 next year :). I might try out uncharted 2, the first one was pretty good.

nhl 10 demo out for ps3

anyone tried dirt2 demo? I'm waiting for NFS Shift demo to come out as i'll probably be getting one of the two.

hey guys I got a chance to snag a PS3 off a friend of a friend that supposedly only needs a new motor to spin the disk (?) now is it possible to just get a new motor somewhere? or even a whole new drive and just swap 'em? or are they coded like the 360 drives?

if it were that easy, your friend wouldn't be giving it you :p

You'd probably have to disassemble the optical drive to replace the motor, and IMO, you're probably better off replacing the whole drive.

well they know nothing of the internals of a PS3 haha. I'm not afraid to crack it open I just don't want to drop the money on a new drive when a new motor would've sufficed, or get a whole new drive just to find out that I need $100 in programing gear to recode the drive.

Backwards compatibility is back ... sort of! SCEA has announced that the PlayStation 2 God of War games will be coming to PlayStation 3 on a single, HD-enhanced Blu-ray disc. Previously hinted at in a consumer survey, the God of War Collection will feature "reworked" versions of both games, running at 60 frames per second and 720p resolution. The port is being handled by Bluepoint Games, the team behind the PSN-exclusive shooter, Blast Factor. Hopefully, the games will be more than simply upscaled, giving original PS3 owners a reason to partake in the double dip. Update: And yes, it will have Trophies.

The Blu-ray collection will be available this "holiday season," and will cost $39.99 -- the same price as buying both of the games on PS2. This HD remix should give fans some time to practice Kratos' moves before God of War III completes the "triology" (oh, press release typos!) in March.
