so tried R2's cooperative and competitive online and its pretty neat

R2's coop is a none campaign, enemy slaughter matches.. basically u and 8 ppl battle out incoming enemies until the end of a level..

like all the reviews have said, this does hav a WoW feel to it (although i dont play WoW so i wouldnt know) because you will be dependent on other classes from ur teammate...

someone heals, someone can give ammo, and someone can go full assault

now its a level grinding process.. and another thing to note about is the level ranking is seperate from cooperative, and competitive

meaning dont expect to play cooperative and get as much exp, so u can unlock weapons and armors to use for the big 60 player team matches,

u unlock weapons for cooperative only.. much like u unlock weapons for competitive only if u play competitive..

now the big team deathmatches can be tricky too, u can only level up from ranked matches, which u have to use the option to "play". and not use "find game" as this will just give u results of user hosted matches...

Broken PS3!!!

I turned on my PS3 after not playing it for a couple of days...it tried to start with the green light and the fan tried to start, then the light turns yellow and the fan stopped. Followed by a few beeping noise and blinking (flashing) red lights.

I called Sony and they charge an arm and a leg to get it fixed. I searched online for a fix and I tried taking out the hard drive, etc.

Any help? Anybody know a place around GVR that I could bring it to get it fixed?

Thanks in advance.

is it a good time to get the ps3 vs 360? I had both before but then i sold it cause i needed money for vacation. Durring that time, i mostly played the 360 cause it had a lot more fun games. But now the main reason i want the ps3 is to play gt5. Any insight?

MTG at Coquitlam, they are the service depot for Sony PS3s

they will also ask for your firstborn if your PS3 is purchased more than 1 year ago

id say that if u were to compare R2 to COD4 online multiplayer, R2 is definitely generic.. it will get lost in the shuffle easily..

with 60 players running around in one map, it can get really really chaotic.. the weapons are cool enough to do the game justice as some of them are pretty unique..

the game is fun, IMO its good enough for me.. again if u read the other reviews, its going to b either you love it or hate it type of game.. its pretty much the same feel as R1..
the server is very much active.. like thousands of people are playing.. . there is plenty of game servers to choose from

im skipping COD WaW.. i dont like WW2 settings and seeing that its pretty much is the same as COD4 in terms of online gaming, thats why i picked up R2 as an alternative..

wait another good year and half if you wanna get your PS3 for GT5.

I made this mistake..year ago..thinking it would come out in a few months from now. Hence I play that pricey overglorfied demo called GT5P from time to time :'(

ForbiddenX 11-13-2008 05:16 PM

I got a PS3 today. But I have a question, are the letters supposed to have a weird ghosting effect in the menus?

wouwou 11-13-2008 05:57 PM

^Of course NOT

ForbiddenX 11-13-2008 06:04 PM

Is there anyway to get rid of it? It only happens with the text.

Presto 11-13-2008 06:40 PM

Analog TV? Could be your brightness/contrast.

ForbiddenX 11-13-2008 06:45 PM

I've got an HDTV and the PS3 is running at 1080p. I'll try adjusting the brightness/contrast.

well the thing is, i can log onto PSN for without any problems. i can log onto it ALL THE TIME. but when tryign to play R2, at least a few of my friends and i experience network problems each time we play. and i seem to be the one with consistence problems. it took me 1 and 1/2 hour of trying to connect every night before i can actually play. and that doesnt guarantee that i dont drop out.
i swear either R2 was released with a BUG, or their servers are overloading.

nabs 11-14-2008 02:56 PM

Waiting for RE5, gonna be awesome.

try putting your PS3 in DMZ mode..but that will make your contents unprotected to hackers and what not. If you dont have any personal stuff..just movies and music..give it a try.

Oshin 11-14-2008 11:05 PM

anyone know if the playstation network card out in Canada yet? I want to buy stuff from playstation store, I've tried credit card already and is mad frustrating to get it work...

dub.g 11-15-2008 12:29 AM

if you buy a $50 psn card, you pay $50 plus taxes right?

while if u put $50 money from your credit card on ur psn wallet, u putting in just $50, no taxes

although any game you buy from psn store charges you taxes...

so wouldnt b a better idea to just use ur cc instead these psn cards so u dont get tax twice?

the only thing that i bought from psn was the warhawk expansion.. and its pretty simple.. just type ur cc number. and put it how much u want.... u can also delete your cc account on ur psn from account management if ur too paranoid bout someone hacking into ur account..

yes it's in DMZ mode, and all ports are forwarded correctly.

You don't get charged taxes when you upload funds into your wallet. When I uploaded $10 to my wallet, my credited card was charged $10, no taxes
