edit 2: after many tries now, my keeper rate is so much better. my next mission is to take it outdoors, once i find a bracket so i can attach it to my camera somehow.

the monitor comes with a hot shoe mount, but of course my flash unit occupies it. in the meanwhile, last one:

Whoever made this has no knowledge of journalism. The photojournalist was probably on a deadline to deliver a photo of a potential story that had to be submitted ASAP. The fastest way to do it would be to take the image on the phone and send it right away to the editor. Shooting it on the SLR and going back to the car to fire up the laptop and send it that way may take up too much time. For a newspaper printed at about 72dpi, a smartphone camera is more than enough.

^actually that's the first thing I thought if too. He needed to get the image online or something.

Maybe he wanted to share it on Facebook :lol

It looks to be a fantastic lens, but the price......

You can buy a Nikon D800 & a 500mm f4 VRII and have change left over to buy a few more lenses...or a Canon 5DmkIII & 500mm f4L IS II and a few lenses, although the new super-telephotos are more expensive than the previous versions from both Nikon & Canon.

For 13K it better be fantastic! It's more about bragging rights. lololol

D800 + 400mm + crop probably does just as good.
