Sicario - 8.5/10 Really awesome movie.

The Man from UNCLE - 9/10

Very slick, stylish, and fun movie. Plot may not be bulletproof, but highly enjoyable.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 3/10. I've been a big Star Wars fan for as long as I can remember and I absolutely hated it.

Point Break 10/10

I haven't watched this from start to finish since I was... a kid iirc I can't believe how much of a rip off Fast & Furious is of this :lol F&F is literally a remake of Point Break except they swapped surfing for import racing.

better acting and cast in this though, I can see why it's a classic

ilovebacon 12-28-2015 11:13 PM

THE MARTIAN:Bring him home : 9/10

just because there were no subtitles for the chinese scene, overall it was a very entertaining movie! Must watch!

PiuYi 12-28-2015 11:51 PM

Kingsman - 2/10
- what in the fuck. i don't even know where to start...

The Nightmare Before Christmas - 7.5/10
- never watched it as a kid, might have enjoyed it more if i were a kid, still liked it for the singing and overall 1990s Disney movie feel

DragonChi 12-29-2015 12:14 AM

SW: Force Awakens : 7/10, Average movie. I felt like it was more to setup the sequels.

The Wind Rises: 8/10 Typical Miyazaki film, not as depressing as Grave of the Fireflies though.

Kaguya-hime no Monogatari: 8.5/10

The little prince: 7.5/10

gilly 12-29-2015 09:52 AM

Agreed.

But for people who enjoy films like Dumb & Dumber, this one might just work for them.

I went in expecting a smart action flick, but the action sequences were comical... but it wasn't a comedy either cause it didn't make me laugh... not a thriller, not a chick-flick... it's almost on the level of Sharknado and those cheesy movies but at least those are blatantly cheesy and really go for it, Kingsman just sucked

like someone else here said before though, different strokes for different folks i guess

I feel like both you guys have a tenuous grasp on basic concepts such as "tropes" and "fun'

knight604 12-31-2015 01:49 PM

straight outta compton 10/10

Hateful 8

8/10
Solid, good movie, pretty much classic Tarantino style.

6793026 01-01-2016 04:37 AM

Creed. meh, wasn't that epic, no idea why they think it's epic with such high reviews. I didn't like the last fight, the other fight at the middle of the movie was much better. 1 shot sequence. 7/10 Yes it's better than the last rocky movies in the last 10 yrs but not epic as what people said.

Brooklyn 8.5/10 great movie and cast. typical love story with solid acting. would recommend.

StylinRed 01-01-2016 05:52 AM

Bridge of Spies 9/10 I had low expectations tbh, but was pleasantly entertained! Tom Hanks does very well... as usual? As does Mark Rylance, he really should be in more movies and with better roles!

edit, bumped it up a point

Pagani 01-02-2016 10:51 AM

The martian: 8.5/10 - Thought the story was good.

Creed: 7/10 - The last fight seemed a bit rushed to me.

MR_BIGGS 01-02-2016 12:00 PM

The Revenant - 7/10

Just couldn't get into it. Leo in his role was great, but storyline was not captivating. He won't win an award for this one.

So you like watching half movies at a time?

inv4zn 01-02-2016 10:23 PM

Hateful Eight: 8/10 (Ha!)

It's filmed beautifully - would have liked to watch it in original 70mm lol. Decent story, and Samuel L Jackson is actually watchable in this one.

That being said, do not take your girlfriends. You will be forced to watch many-a-rom-com's because she'll pull out the "Remember the time I watched that Tarantino movie with you??"

6793026 01-03-2016 01:54 AM

The Big Short 7/10 with a decent cast. Brad Pitt had min. scenes, Steve Carrall was great however his role was limited to "pissed off" look. Christian Bale did a great job too.

Overall not the best movie even though they tried to make it look like 2005. Typical Hollywood script.

6793026 01-03-2016 03:22 PM

Spotlight. One of the rare films with such an amazing cast it's unbelievable.

Mark Ruffalo has always been a rom -com type guy in my book but he nailed this one really well. Michael Keaton & Rachel McAdams both played their part. Liev Schreiber had a very small role and it was exciting to see John Slattery in films after the TV sitcom. Along with Stanley Tucci, the movie was just done super well.

Script was solid with great pacing, nothing was too boring or dragged on for too long. Based on a true story back in 1980s ish.
Highly recommended 9.5/10
