steve jobs
7/10

not too crazy for sorkin's work aside from the social network
love the ending though

GabAlmighty 10-21-2015 07:32 PM

Dope 8.5/10

Was a cool movie, different kind of twist on it all and lots of laughs. And then ending... Wow, very powerful and just kind of blindsides you. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

rsx 10-22-2015 09:51 PM

Dope - 5/10, it's pretty much Better Luck Tomorrow but crappier.

pinn3r 10-22-2015 11:44 PM

Goosebumps (2015) 1/10

thank god my buddy paid for my ticket.. did not enjoy this in the slightest
can't expect too much out of a childrens' movie

StylinRed 10-24-2015 04:08 AM

Crimson Peak 6/10 looks great, as expected, story was predictable and weak (not a horror movie btw, movie even tells you that right at the start :lol)

The Last Witch Hunter 7/10 pretty good, surprisingly, the ending seemed meek though, kind of fell apart for me (gave me the same feel as the Constantine movie)

Beasts of No Nation 7/10 it lost my attention in the first half (focus/substance seemed lacking), then it got better, perhaps i was expecting too much from it...it was good though

SkinnyPupp 10-24-2015 04:20 AM

Based on the trailer, Witch Hunter looks like it is possibly one of the worst movies made in the last 5 or 10 years :lawl:

StylinRed 10-24-2015 04:28 AM

lol, yeah, it looks like a cheesy fantasy action flick, and it's not far off, but it's a bit better than expected

if you liked Keeanu Reeves' Constantine movie you'll likely enjoy this, it has a bit of the same feel/style but mixed with some Antonio Banderas' 13th warrior ;)

SkinnyPupp 10-24-2015 04:52 AM

Those are pretty much on my list of top 10 worst movies I've ever seen as well, so yeah I'll be skipping it :fuckthatshit:

nsmb 10-24-2015 03:40 PM

^ Constantine is a top 10 worst movie for you? I love that movie :okay:

SkinnyPupp 10-24-2015 05:38 PM

Maybe that was a bit hyperbolic, but I remember hating it at least

13th Warrior on the other hand, was horrible. Especially if you enjoyed the book, which I did as I was really into Crichton books as a teenager. It could have been so good, but it was horrible.

trainwreck 8.5/10
Amy wrote and played the part. Not as epic as brides maid but it was decent. the cameos did a great job. John cena was in and had a few good laughs. glad i watched it.

The Salvation - 7/10

Pretty good old school western. Almost ruined by shitty CGI effects, I almost want to lower the score a bit more.

StylinRed 10-26-2015 02:24 AM

oh yeah i have to finish watching that! i was watching it with my cousin and he refuses to give time to any film involving rape so i didn't see much of it :/

A few "horror" movies watched to get into the spirit of Halloween:

The Conjuring: 4/10

Cheap scares. Quite slow. Could've been so much better had they gone a different direction with some of the plot details. TBH not sure why the high rating on Netflix.

It Follows: 5/10

Newer horror flick. Interesting premise (borderline hilarious actually). Creepy, not really scary per se. Only kept me engaged because I was looking in the movie frames for the antagonist.

Full disclosure: I'm one to laugh when watching a horror movie. I'm particularly hard on them mostly because they use cheap scares, or the plot is so outrageous that I can't help but laugh. The last "horror" movie I enjoyed was The Cabin in the Woods, mostly because it made fun of everything for me.

Inception 9/10- Christopher Nolan movies are the shit, DiCaprio was pretty good too. Had to Google a ELI5 version of the story though.

yeah that's harsh..i thought both were entertaining
it follows was decent because it felt like an 80's indie horror

siciario 8/10

I agree the soundtrack to It Follows definitely lent itself to your observations. Very much like The Guest, which I suppose you could classify as a "horror" movie in the sense that someone chases after the protagonist in a creepy manner.

I'm generally pretty hard on horror films. If something really scared me in a way I don't find cheap, or caused me a lot of dread anticipating something to happen, then I'd give it a pretty good rating.

Sicario (to me at least) had a few instances where I was dreading what would happen next. Same with The Guest. Both were better at that than the two horror films I reviewed above.

gilly 10-29-2015 04:18 PM

Had a screener ticket for 33.

7/10. Lot better than I expected. Thought it would be slow judging from the trailer but it was decently paced.

Dope
8/10

Starring A$AP Rocky who is a surprisingly good actor

6793026 11-04-2015 03:30 PM

Wild City. 迷城

Louis Koo movie. very typical. It's not that crazy of an action movie but it's not bad. The script is decent. It's not an EPIC must watch but it does its job. Good pacing throughout. 8/10

haha13 11-07-2015 12:38 AM

spectre 6.5/10

StylinRed 11-07-2015 02:39 PM

Knock, Knock 3/10 (and i like cheesy horror flicks...)

Keanu gets raped and then tortured by two hot chicks (one of whom is incredibly hot) basically it's a victim shaming (torturing) case by two crazy chicks

3/10 was for Ana de Armas' nude scenes (otherwise it'd be a 1/10)

also it's almost like a prequel to John Wick :lol

6793026 11-07-2015 03:21 PM

the man from UNCLE. not a bad movie. decent packing, nothing too boring, characters were great. what a great watch since it was unexpected. 8/10
