the arrival 7/10 - Interesting take on "Aliens" entertaining, but also very laid out story telling, kinda reminded me of inception in a strange sort of way,the puzzle starts adding up at the end of the movie...Too much Hype Imo.

I watched No Country for Old Men last night. Not for everyone but I loved it. Javier Bardem was scary AF. 8/10

Fantastic Beasts: 6/10

-Super slow pace
-Too many unnecessary scenes -- I'd say only 1/3 of the movie actually focused on the actual plot which will be the focus of the sequels
-Poor cinematography,a lot of back round scenes looked blurry IMO (read it was shot at 24 fps)
-Terrible climax, whole movie is just a setup for the series

Disappointed, since I'm a pretty big HP fan growing up. I think they should have gotten a new director for a fresh take and also have a screen writer share the duties with Rowling.

《三人行》(Three)
director is Johnnie To 杜琪峯, he is famous for his unique "cop thriller" genres HK movies.
He has a consistent style which you might recognize

movie: 8/10.
I went into the film with ZERO expectations. I know they did extreme research on the setting of the hospital; actress did 3 month course on actual surgery with on site and real life surgery. That i have to give them props, even doctors who saw the movie thought it was extremely close to real life.

Story is simple, suspect is locked into the ER, with other patients there. The director is famous for slowly unwrapping the story (so be patient), he has his unique style pace. This time, he used "slow -mo" for the last scene which was quite interesting to see.

YES, every movie has it's loop hole and there is for sure some wtf, how is that possible loopholes. All in all, it's a journey watching Johnnie To's movie, do NOT expect gun fights like rambo, but look forward to seeing how the story unfolds is the only thing I can say.

Suicide Squad 5/10 - Went in with 0/10 expectations and thought it was OK. I can see why critics hated it though. Did not like Jared Leto as the Joker at all. Him and his teeth were more annoying than anything. He could have been great but fell short. Harliquin was average as well. Will Smith as Deadshot was the highlight for me. And Diablo. The villian was dumb. Captain Boomerang was very annoying(but when isn't Jai Courtney annoying, haha). Decent action though with stylish cinematography.

I'm trying hard to enjoy the new DC universe as I like the darkness of it all but the films are all lacking in some way. I can't put my finger on it. Will continue to watch them but they are not as easily enjoyed as the Marvel films.

Marvel set the standard with their movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and a very high standard at that. DC movies have thus far been nothing but disappointing, but maybe only because we have the Marvel movies as the bench mark. Either way, DC needs to step their game up in a big way, I haven't anticipated or cared for a single one of their flicks yet.

suicide squad 4/10

It is like they randomly put together a bunch of scenes with beautiful visual, cinematography and great acting together randomly, but nothing ties together as a whole.

Or made the trailers first and try to make a film out of the scenes from trailer.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children 8/10
It is Tim Burton, but i loved it. The female cast was great, love Ella (the girl in the movie), totally fell in love with her. Overall it's like a kids movie with a bit of weird powers, I really enjoyed it; I still have issues on the loops but whatever.

Kubo & 2 strings, man I really did not like the movie. I didn't think it was that epci. yes the music, art was great, but overall, I fell asleep. Maybe it's just me 5/10

10 Cloverfield Lane 8/10 - Solid thiller. Good casting. Good acting. Loved the ending(while most didn't). Mary Elizabeth Winstead is a favorite of mine so that helped the rating. Worth the watch for sure.

Arrival - 8/10
Allied - 7/10 ...A lot of inaccuracy in this one. A bit slow...however I am still a sucker for war period movies

I think if they had made this movie with a proper villain it could have been much, much better. A witch, was that really the best idea they could come up with? That single handedly killed it for me. I don't know what the source material was but that was a fail in my view.

Fantastic beasts: like 2/10?

Trying to hard to be funny in a lot of scenes and the audience didn't know if it should laugh or not.

There was basically no point to this movie at all as I felt it didn't really set anything up for the future other than "hey jonny depp is a bad guy for the next one".

CGI seems off on some of the "rewinding" parts when they repaired the city. The rain part at the end was

Things I liked seeing were people using magic without saying a spell, no need to explain certain things as there is a universe already set up. Hopefully this series has a point to it like the harry potter one did.

Florence Foster Jenkins: 8/10.

The movie started out really slow. Glad the pace picked up. Simon Helberg played his role well. He may have exaggerated a bit in some scenes.

Miss Peregrine's acting was a bit off, but otherwise it's worth a watch

Sully 6/10
Totally mis-represented the NTSB. They really hollywoodized this movie.

Snowden 9/10
Epic story on how much governments really have on our data. 2 hour movie passed by quick. Pacing was great.

ZOOTOPIA 8/10

THE Wailing 9/10 Korean zombie/exorcism/mystery horror film, it's on Netflix and it's fantastic! And the scenery is gorgeous!
