3 in total.
First was a machine wash at 6 months. Next two were hand washes at 9 and 12 months.

how much stacking is too much stacking before you decide to cuff/hem?

areyounoob 06-20-2012 06:02 PM

Stacking is pretty much up to the wearer.

My general rule of thumb is if you're going to stack, you should have at least two actual folds on top of eachother. Anything less than that I'd cuff cause it just looks awkward =/

Anyone know any good place in Portland/Seattle-Lynnwood areas to find cheap Raws for the huskier crowd? Im headed down to those places soon. Or are there good deals locally for larger sizes?

I can't guarantee they'll have larger sizes, but these are the places I know in the area. They all have websites so you can see their lineup. Probably have to call/email for sizing.

Blackbird - Seattle/Portland
Blue Owl Workshop- Bellevue
The Woodlands - Portland

Gf surprised me with N&F black power stretch today. These won't fade much, will they? And anyone know a good place to get them hemmed? My legs are too short for the stacks to look decent :(

hongy 06-23-2012 12:18 AM

God damn it, was working on the car well wearing my NFXLoveless jeans and now the knees went from indigo, to blue/white near white...Is it possible to fix them when the holes eventually appear, without it looking like shit?

I wore most of the indigo out of the knees on my Aika pair a long time ago, the denim is still thick and shows no signs of tearing. With raw denim the indigo just tends to bleed out very easily.

yeah like mindbomber said, the denim is usually pretty tough, unless you're always rubbing it against a rough surface...Kinda also depends on how tight the denim actually fits on you too...

I actually remember the ends of my pant legs ripping apart cus I'd walk on my stacks all the time, it was after a year and a half though, so it took some time to wear off... keep in mind these were cheap mondays too

hongy 06-24-2012 03:53 PM

The problem is that you can feel the denim thinned out in the knees. Just a bummer that I was too tired to change out of them and no they're like this.

I've had this pair for 1.5 years now, and I'd hate to have to retire a pair because of something like this. I tend to buy 1 pair of raw denim every 3 years and just wear them until the next pair.

If I can find the charger for my camera I'll show some pictures. 1.5 years no wash on this pair and I have another that is 4 years plus but I ended having to wash that pair early because I got bubble tea on it 5 months in.

Personal preference.

I have a pair of levis that has almost no stacks and is just long enough (kinda like dress pants but an inch longer)

On the other end of the spectrum, I have a few pairs of diors that have at least 4-5 "layers" of stacks. (38" inseam, and I'm 5'8)

So I got my APC's back from M.C. Tailor located across the street from dutil. I was recommended to go there by the staff at dutil and while its rather noticeable that the crotch has been repaired I dont mind (gives it more of a worn in look imo). The repair isnt seamless but it only cost me 8 dollars. Dutil also recommended me to a place in harbor centre that supposedly does a really good job but is around 20 bux? Overall my experience at M.C. Tailor is fine and is a good deal. Im also not too worried considering Im at the 1 year anniversary for this pair of APC's and already have a second pair that im starting to wear. Hope this review helps!

anyone know how dsquared jeans fit? saw a pair of regular fit online in size 30. Do they fit bigger or smaller? is the material really rough and hard? I'm usually size 31 in jeans and debating over this pair of size 30.
