Personal preference. Stack, cuff, or hem is up to you.

ForbiddenX 09-02-2012 10:46 PM

I hemmed my N&F but I'm cuffing my Tellason's until I can find somewhere that can hem them using a chain stitcher that isn't too far away (Seattle) or I'll have to wait until I go to San Fran.

I got these Tellason's a couple weeks ago but I've been a little bit busy to post them up. I picked them up from ABC Denim (they're having a huge sale on their inventory right now). Got it before the sale though unfortunately :(

I love the overall construction of the denim and it feels really nice to wear. I got the Ladbroke Grove (slim tapered) and it fit TTS but you can probably size down one for an even slimmer look. I'm going for a more relaxed look instead of a skinny one though :D. Everything that was used to make the pair of Jeans are made in the USA. From the denim all the way down to the rivets.

Here are some pictures from today:

I'll take a picture of the details a little later when I have some more time.

For slim jims in a larger size, I would hem them. You won't get much stacking from slim jims past a 28-30 waist

areyounoob 09-02-2012 11:46 PM

Cool boots.

Know a quality place that'll do a good job? I'd go to my regular tailor, but they're more a chain than anything. I REALLY want to protect my investment.

MindBomber 09-02-2012 11:56 PM

Forbiddenx,

I love those boots; very cool, and they look great. I ordered a very similar pair a few days ago.

nabs 09-02-2012 11:56 PM

bought true's! 60 percent off at boysco, my size!!!

blue owl in Bellevue has a union special for chain stitching now. Never used them before tho.

Not denim related, but I just noticed that local stores that stock clarks dbs increased their prices.. :okay:

speeed 09-07-2012 08:25 PM

Yup just bought a pair of clarks dbs in beeswax
Browns Shoes hiked their price up to $160. Your best bet is to order them online.

Anyways, I'm looking for a brown/natural leather belt. any recommendations?

RESN 09-07-2012 08:28 PM

I always buy Clarks in Seattle. DB's for $60 usually in beeswax or brown

areyounoob 09-07-2012 09:46 PM

I went to the Clarks store at the premium outlets a week ago, but they had a terrible selection of desert boots.
I guess I should venture off into the city a little bit more.

If you're cheap, there's a Tandy Leather factory in Surrey right after the pattullo bridge. Mine is just about a year old and it's got the patina to prove it. Here's a guide of what you're going to need, if you decide this route. You'll be left with a basic full grain leather belt, assuming that you didn't dye it.
If you want something more known, there's Tanner Goods and Corter Leather, but there are always other brands that aren't so mainstream.

Go google Tanner Goods. They have some pretty good belts I'm told.

bcedhk 09-10-2012 01:16 PM

Clarks at the premimum outlet is more for the older crowd. Db will be a rare find.

The little burgendy (i think they are the same company as footlocker?) sometimes sell DB's for less than 80.

hey speed, what size is your waist? i have a natural tan leather belt from corter i bought for $60. he made it in the wrong size for me, it'll probably fit in the middle hole if you're a 31. takes like 6 weeks for him to make one so if you're interested i'll sell it. wore it like twice and just the slightest amount of blue transferred from my jeans. pm me if you're interested.

Someone school me on denim.

For the past two years I've been wearing A&E jeans (their slim fits my legs well). I think it's time I upgraded. I don't understand how tight is acceptable because I hear that most denim stretch (raw or not raw). My mentality is to also not go raw because I always tend to drop food on my clothes (happens almost every week). I'm still open to the idea of raw but I'm also curious if there are good brands/fits for non-raw jeans.

True Religeon
Seven for all man kind
Rock & Republic

Those are good brands for non-raw jeans.

:ilied:

But I would consider going raw because quality of denim is much higher imo. If you drop food on your jeans, then just put a napkin over your thighs when you eat....no shame in that.

Energy 09-10-2012 10:03 PM

What's your price range? Eh for me food stains just add to the character of my denim. Not that I spill food on them regularly.

RESN 09-10-2012 10:05 PM

There is no rule that exists where you CANT wash your raw denim for 6 months. Wash regularly if needed, they can still turn out great! I don't think you should take raw denim out of the equation.

If you want non raw, LVC, RRL, Nudies, Ralph Lauren Denim Supply

incubus 09-10-2012 10:49 PM

since we are on the topic of shoes going to vegas dont feel like rocking dress shoes

anything else i can wear?

tia

Ideally, anything below $200 if possible. I'm going to give those brands a try and see which fits best for me.

I'm convinced that I should try out raw as well. Could I have some recommendations as well? (I have googled some brands but I have no idea what's good and not).

RESN 09-11-2012 09:16 AM

For raw denim you could try Nudies, APCs, Naked & Famous is really popular on this forum, Unbranded

PJ 09-11-2012 02:31 PM

In terms of raws.. for the price, Naked&Famous should be a no-brainer.

For non-raw, I personally like Sevens and Levi's. And Nudie's non-raw styles.

Got back from Vegas a few weeks ago. I didn't feel like wearing dress shoes either.
