Depends on the shoe/boot. For sneakers or boots, aw yeah a bit of dirt makes them look better imo.

But for anything dressy, e.g. Bexley Enfield or any dress shoe, I'll try to keep them out of the rain because I wouldn't use Sno-Seal or anything of the sort on them at all.

mb: they're your boots, you can do whatever you want with them. just dont tell others not to care for theirs because of your standards for shoe care.

I ended up getting some Red Wing Beckman's in Cigar Featherstone...after two years of deciding weather or not I wanted them lol. Awesome pair of boots. Smouldered Obenauf's heavy duty LP on it too.

Has anyone's raws gotten to the point where they feel very soft?

I have some left hand twill N&F's, about 1.5 years old, never washed. But somehow they've softened up so much to the point where it feels as soft as a pair of Sevens or something.

I have older Nudies and Unbranded that don't feel this soft. Maybe it's the left hand twill? :suspicious:

How many times have you soaked/washed them? My N&F ones because soft after the third soak. It could be because all the starch is washed out.
Another reason could be that you simply wore the shit out of all of it. :fullofwin:

This is what I'm thinking. Might just simply be a lighter weight.

show us some fade pics PJ! :)

PJ 11-24-2012 10:42 PM

^That's another odd thing. This particular pair hasn't faded that much lol :suspicious:

Maybe I'll post em tomorrow regardless.

fs604 11-25-2012 12:36 PM

i think they become softer because of the bacteria/not washing it?

mine were really soft too and it felt like.. too gross for me to wear anymore without washing.

Spoiler!

Long story short - over last 8 months combination of not caring what I eat + lifting pretty heavy in the gym = my APCs are getting too tight in the thighs.

Any suggestions for a cheap pair of jeans to take their place over the next little bit while I get my legs back down to an appropriate size? I have a pair of N&F skinny guys in Black Power Stretch that fit pretty well, and also a pair of Joe Fresh denim that are black and like 3% stretch material (so stretch material has been doing well for me). Would get another pair of N&F but I don't want to spend more than $100 on this pair, and the indigo Joe Fresh jeans aren't stretch.

Unbranded is legit.

Strangely enough, I like my Unbranded more than my N&F's :lawl:

unit 11-30-2012 09:33 AM

i tried them on thought they fit really odd on me. really wanted to like them but just couldnt.

woob 11-30-2012 03:34 PM

I didn't wear my raw jawnz today. I felt like I was cheating on them.

Yeah, I bought a black pair but didn't like the color or the fit so I resold them.

Calbeee 11-30-2012 10:36 PM

super interested in those Unbranded 21oz..

how do their skinnies fit like in comparison with levi 511 and nudie thin finns?

woob 11-30-2012 10:43 PM

I have the N&F Skinnies (same measurements) and a few pairs of 511s. They fit more or less the same as Levi's 511. Maybe a slightly smaller thigh but that's all.

oops i meant the 510s

woob 11-30-2012 11:14 PM

I guess you could just measure your jeans and compare them to BlueOwl's measurements.

Groot 12-01-2012 05:00 PM
