yeah they will. natural leather will patina over time much like how raw denim works. things such as interaction with water and sunlight help to evole the leather, its pretty cool!

i am still waiting on my belt

PJ 01-08-2013 08:21 PM

I was thinking about that wallet too.
Next on my to-buy list

After 12 months my denim stretched... Any hints or tips on making them tighter other than washing it?

Energy 01-08-2013 10:24 PM

What brand do you have? Some tend to stretch more than others and lose shape over time. To get rid of the stretch soak in hot water or warm wash are the only options...

Calbeee 01-08-2013 11:03 PM

you guys know anything about how the apcs shrink in length after wash? i want to hem mine

almost anywhere? holts, boysco, dutil, plenty... not a hard jean to find

MindBomber 01-11-2013 08:54 PM

I strongly dislike the Nudie wallet at $199.

The quality looks to be quite low, the loose stitching and cheapo chain are telling.

Energy 01-11-2013 09:08 PM

Lol $199? I thought it would be closer to $50, if that.

maybe they noticed that too and changed their stitching.
You can see on buddy's wallet the stitching is white so maybe they're using something more durable now and wanted to make it noticeable by changing the stitch color.
Idk, just a thought.

Edit: speaking of leather, I really need to oil my tandy belt soon. Will be a year since its last oiling in April.

its clearly full grain leather and a semi premium brand. $199 may be a bit steep but 125+ i can easily picture. not to my taste but it doesnt look that cheap to me.

woob 01-12-2013 08:04 PM

I would rather pay that much for a legit full-grain wallet than double that for some LV Damier bullshit.

Expresso 01-13-2013 01:48 AM

Speaking of which I have a tanner goods bifold in natural for sale, used once or twice. If anyone is interested.

Google styleforum APC thread. Will have a few dozen examples of how much they shrink. From my experience, lengthwise they don't shrink or stretch much at all, but always safe to leave a bit of wiggle room, i.e. don't hem it to a point where a few milimeters shorter would make it look like ass.

....or, you could pay $75 for a full-grain wallet from Tanner Goods, and save $124 through the exclusion of poor quality stitching and a horrible chain.

LV wallets are awful, Alexander McQueen makes the best pieces in that price bracket.
