Hey Ty/Tommy, any chance I could get some help removing all my emissions stuff? I ordered my RB Header yesterday, and I'm reading that "An Air Control and Check Valve Cover Plate is required when using this header with a stock intake system." That could be circumvented by just getting rid of emissions, right? Do I need anything other than a 21.5" belt from Lordco? |
Yeah its a couple days old news now.....but.......I BEAT TOMMY ON THE HIGHWAY THROUGH A 4RTH GEAR RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PWN3D!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA.....so tommy you sure you don't wanna trade me cars now? ;) NA 4 EVER! Turbo Lixzorz! |
Alright, just payed a visit to Lordco! 1 Month and counting till FOG LIGHT MADNESS!!! I cannot wait! :D Me and Tyler are gonna fuck you all up if you somehow get in front of us! hehehe later -Justin |
what are you going to buy? I need some more brightness as well Dont want yellow tho.... |
Jeff, the plate is only 6 bucks from Racing Beat. Just order it, heck it might even beat your header here. I ran with the rat's nest intact and the AC&CV open but not removed for 6 months not problems, the day I removed the emissions...big trouble. Full on vac leak and 2k idle. I don't know if they refined the system after so you may be able to run it exposed until the plate gets here, then remove the unit and inn=stall the plate later. Personally, I'd wait the extra 2 days for the plate to get here. Hmmm RB has different listings for 79-80 and 81-92 so it may not funtion open. Your Call. |
If your asking about the ACV blockoff plate and header shit then here is what I did. I had the header installed, drove my car home with the ACV still bolted on. It ran perfectly fine. Unbolted ACV and bolted on Block off plate once I got home, any hoses that go to the ACV just cap those with vac caps or when non are available Electrical tape seems to work ;) Then boom, your done, wire your 6ports and your ready to roll. I had no troubles driving with the ACV still on with the Header on as well. And the only thing an ACV Vac Leak causes is a wonky idle so if you can make it home without it on there you should be fine. Mine had a small leak after installing blockoff plate and what it would do is idle fine for about 15 seconds and then start trying to stall out, after I tightened it down and got it on there better (don't use a gasket btw) it was totally fine and still is. later -Justin |
wow 128 pages:) |
Pfftt biatch! You'll get pwned now! Honda gas mileage here I come!! (ignition box in). Oh btw Jeff, order the block off plate kit. It comes with the block off plate for the acv, egr, mop, and some random shit I can't think of now. I think its from k2rd about 20 bucks or so. It'll make it alot easier unless you want to get them custom made. |
Lol didn't know we had a new page. Simply remove the whole rats nest out. Simple matter of taking off the UIM and taking every thing connected to it out and chuck it. You can take a look at my old rats nest for reference to see what goes where and shit but should be relatively easy. Check this page out for emmision removals: http://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthr...ssions+removal |

Tommy, if I leave my emissions in for now, do I need the block off kit for just a header install? I'd like to get rid of all my emissions like you did, but since K2RD only accepts Paypal, that'll have to wait for a few weeks. |
I'm not too familiar withthe N/A's but if the header fits without running into any fitment issues with the ACV then it should matter if you leave the emmisions or not. Do the emmissions when you get the plate and plan ahead just in case you fook it up and screw up your idle or create leaks all over. |
