Earls on Barlow Trail (calg) Had a few Vodka slimes, so freakin' gooooood there! My tongues tingling just thinking about the lime flavour 9.9999999/10 On the contrary, vodka slimes at Fiore Cantina (on 17th) was hurting, and served in some weird small glass. 2/10 |
Felicos my steak was good my gf's roast lamb couldve been better 8/10 |
Some kinda pasta on the 10th. got the butternut squash stuffed pasta, with the italian salad. 5/10 it was too rich and a bit too salty, and i saw them microwaving it in the back to heat it up. Wanted to just leave. do not recommend |

^ ^ ^ That's the restaurant name, Some Kinda Pasta. Surprised to hear. |
hahaha well, if the name sucks ... i guess the food must suck too |
campagnolo on main street tagliarni- noodles well cooked, pork came off kinda salty, wasnt a fan of the dish. risotto-fantastic, just the way i like it, not to creamy and lots of texture, definately a fan. nutella tart- very boring seemed as if it was prepped far in advance and lost any of its soul when i began to eat it. Room- Beautiful room for the money they spent, reminds me of another interpretation of the boneta room except longer, Bar in the back is possibly my new favorite place to have a drink i recommend it (view of the bus station is actually kind of nice lol) Service- Excellent, slow night but he was on his game and helped with a nice wine selection Overall- 7/10 I'm definitely gonna give this place another chance and hopefully i can find a dish i love. |
^ Whereabouts is Campagnolo? I went to The Wallflower Modern Diner on Main just north of West Broadway where the old Aurora Bistro used to be. As I walked in with my lady friend, we were greeted by a happy not-so-SOMA waitress. We were allowed to sit anywhere and the friendly bartender was by default, our server. We started off with two highballs both of which were $3.50 each and were very tasty. I had a chicken pot pie with ceaser which hit the spot as I haven't had chicken pot pie in a while. Although it was a little bland on the side, you can taste the fresh flavours of the chicken and veggies used so all it took was a dash of pepper and it was all good. My lady friend had a shrimp scampi served over a bed of angel hair pasta. The pasta was perfect drizzled with a light creamy sauce with some veggies on the side. Very tasty dish overall. For dessert, we shared a small plate of a baked apple pie topped with vanilla ice cream which was very very very good. With tax and tip, our bill came to $53 ($26.50/person) Great new establishment in SOMA. Awesome location if you want to hit up the bar to grab some food and drinks with friends and also, nice selection of light/deep house music. Friendly staff and neat interior/decor. I'd definitely come back. :) Edit: Oops! I forgot the rating. I'd give this place 8.5 out of 10. |
Campagnolo is on Main Street between Terminal and the Dunsmuir Viaduct. Its beside some rundown hotel/bar which I think is the Ivanhoe. I thought it was a really nice room as well, but the food was just alright. I only thought 1 out of the 3 mains that we ordered tasted above average. The ling cod was awesome, but the risotto was way too salty and the steak was just alright. I'll probably give it one more shot with other menu items before I decide whether to come here regularly or not. And an interesting note about Campagnolo is that it was opened by the same three proprietors of Fuel! That alone is what got me curious enough to try it out. |

Same rating for me Service - 8/10 Food - 9/10 |
Pho Le up in Chinatown. Doesn't really disappoint. Decent looking nammer MILF with some good nammer shows up on the LCD screens. Pretty decent and consistent food. Convenient location. 8/10. Always a returning customer. |
Unclie Ming's on Main St. $5.50 lunch special never disappoints 8/10 |

Boston Pizza Langley Bypass. Went to grab some food after a movie last night with my wife. Got seated right away, sat there almost 20 minutes and no waiter/waitress even looked at us. No drink order, no food orders they were to busy chatting it up with each other. About 6 tables had people at them and there was at least 3 waitresses and a bartender. I mean had to be tough outnumbered. We got up and left without getting anything probably better off if the food comes anywhere near the service. 0/5. |
Sun Fat Cafe on Kingsway across from ICBC. My mom likes it a lot here, it's not bad but the wait sucks sometimes. Yesterday was good though. 7.5/10 |
Sushi Garden 10/10 good udon, unagi and fairly cheap scallop cones |
Browns steak house 8/10 Appys were good. Service sucked. Overcharged me on my cognac. Forgot my lobster tail with my steak and charged me extra for it on top of that. Nice atmosphere though. EDIT: Thought Browns/Pinkys were the same. I actually went t oBrowns in Kits. Not pinkys. This was brought ot my attention by someone whos concerned about where I eat :) |

That Pho Le place is unbelievably salty as well -- could've been a bad experience, but I thought it was one of the worst pho I've tried in Vancouver. |
^Really? I've always found it to be fine. I do, however, enjoy a bit of a darker base (READ: not salty though!) from these commercial pho joints, otherwise they turn out to be too watered down. I also enjoy eating my commercial pho spicy. That being said, I've had home made pho with relatively clear broth but broth was heavily infused with flavours. OMG, pho to die for! I need to go visit my aunt. |

L'artista ristorante italiano http://www.lartistarestaurant.com/ Great great Italian restaurant. Everything taste like classy homestyle Italian. I had the baked viel with cheese/tomtatoes, came with veggies. Good size portion, very hot and tatsey when I ordered it My date had some sort of veggie pasta dish and she loved it. Busy atmosphere, not really a romantic place but the service was great Would go back in a heart beat 10/10 |
