Kirin Coquitlam in Henderson Place mall.
Good dim sum and not busy compared to the other Kirin locations.

Gyo-O, meant to go g-men but they were closed so went here instead

7/10

Tried the takoyaki bukkake and the nabeyaki udon.
Udon was okay bukkake wasn't great though, a little too bland

And overall the place is expensive and the tables/menus were also sticky which was a bit of a turnoff

Deer Garden
Malaysian Curry Beef Brisket - 7/10.

Bro, that place sucks major balls. I can make better ramen with instant noodles.

If you think that's good, go downtown for ramen and it will melt your tongue.

I'd rank it a "DO NOT PATRONIZE". Waste of money. Although I guess it works in a quick fix, but I'd rather go to T&T and buy some cup noodles soaked in cold water.

absolutely agree... their ramen is crap compared to the one in downtown robson area..

I'm no ramen connoisseur, by any means. I was in the area and had never ate there before.

Do you happen to have your specialty in canned form?

Sushi Garden (Lougheed)
6/10

As usual at 6pm, the service was terrible; there was this one server (female) that was fairly rude and with quite the mean mugging face...Never filled my glass of tea after flagging her down twice.

Food is mediocre; cant complain for their spicy tuna combo and agadashi tofu..

Next time, take-out would be a wiser choice if I wanted half-assed sushi closer to home.

Sushi Ben (king ed / oak ) 0.00000000001/10

went to the bank last night after work, decided i was too lazy and tired to cook dinner, and luckily i saw a sushi place next door and ordered take out, its a hole in the wall, but i saw ppl eating in there so i didnt think it could be that bad....

i'll have to say, the worst sushi ive ever had in my life,..........EVERR

1) shrimp tempura was not even crispy, it was limp and soggy
2) tuna in their tuna sushi looks soo disgusting, it was brown, and the rice around it soaked up the brown tuna juices, threw up im my mouth when i looked at it
2) bbq salmon roll........hah, it looked and tasted like it wasnt even bbq'd, more like microwaved salmon roll,
4) the lady asked me if i need chopsticks, liek wtf, am i gonna eat with my bare fukkin hands?
5) california roll was not even half decent, not even close to T&T quality ( which is already pretty bad)
6) didnt even get any wasabi
7) the place looks like a dump
8) i had to pay for the meal, when clearly, you'd have to be paid to attempt to eat their sushi

Had Memphis Blues for the first time last night. Decided to go with something different though and ordered the Catfish Po' Boy.

I wish I had taken a picture of the thing, it was massive! They put two giant pieces of fried catfish in the sandwich with a nice thick slice of tomato. The catfish was cooked perfectly, nice and flaky, not dry at all. Only issue though is that a real Po' Boy is supposed to be served on a crusty French style Baguette, this was just served on a regular bun.

The sides were just ok as well that came with it. Nothing special.

7.5/10
