#9 Roast Duck Leg with Noodle

https://scontent-hkg3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...a2&oe=585AE4EC

8.5/10

Always consistent. I'd have to say it might be the best roast duck in Vancouver. Tried Parker Place BBQ just a week back and this was still better.

Best place for ribs? Go!

guurl 08-17-2016 10:34 AM

Cocoru in richmond was really good. Reasonable cost. Crispy skin
One of my favorite places for bone-in korean fried chicken. Downside of this place was that they took a little long to make the food though....
Rice cakes were little expensive for a small portion too. Pocha's in coquitlam rice cakes are so much better

8.5/10

Didn't really like the boneless snow fall chicken though. Sauce was too creamy and bland for my liking.
Will defs go back to try other items on the menu

how does this compare to other placesi n coquitlam / downtown?

Surrey seems a bit far for chicken haha

Armind 08-17-2016 01:51 PM

On par, if not better. Chicken is moist. Always busy there during weekends, sometimes sold out.

Did you go today? Went on Saturday, only ordered the Pa-Dak. I didn't think it was that long to make the food though. 9/10.

Have you had the Robson Daeji fried chicken? I consider it some of the best Korean style in Vancouver, and especially like the crispy potato wedges they throw in too. Also on Robson is Olé which I rate a close second. Both are leagues better than Zabu.

Moose's Down Under

Had the meatloaf and mash. It was quite tasty. The mashed potatoes are roughly mashed so you can tell it's not that cheap crap from a box. The meatloaf was hearty and the gravy they used is thick and smooth. I had this with a Caesar salad and it leaves you damn full. This is a legit food coma I'm feeling right now. Comfort food and the price for lunch is very reasonable. The meatloaf main is 14 bucks and they give you a lot of food for that money.

Place is located on the south side of pender and the nearest cross street is Hornby. It's tucked away downstairs so you have to look out for it.

The service was very quick. I was expecting 10-15 minutes to wait for meatloaf but 5 minutes and it was hot and fresh at our table. The atmosphere is pretty laid back and is set up pretty much like a bar so it's not the most romantic. It has a very cozy "been there for years" kinda feel to it. It's not dingy or anything, it just feels like it's a good hangout place almost like a MacLaren's Bar in How I met Your Mother, but instead of Irish, it's Australian.

8/10

I found ole's food terrible, service terrible, cockroaches too on my first visit 2 months ago :heckno: and an earwig...

Daeji? Haven't tried it yet.

I've been to soo many korean restaurants for fried chicken. Boom beer and cocoru has been my favorite so far. Ajuker in coquitlam is okay too but too saucy. Really crispy there as well. I do not recommend the korean restaurant on fraser by 45th ish though so don't go there. You'll only get disappointed:heckno:

dasarang isnt too bad either, in coq

HonestTea 08-19-2016 02:34 AM

Not a fan of Dasarang, would prefer Ajuker in Coquitlam instead.

Hondaracer 08-19-2016 06:52 AM

What's the deal with the Korean "chicken and Beer" places?

Are they basically a place to go eat and get drunk? Or is it just like a take out kinda vibe?

Armind 08-19-2016 08:14 AM

^ Chill, eat, drink!

radioman 08-19-2016 08:20 AM

DragonChi 08-19-2016 04:47 PM

At au petite right now. They ran out of subs. I'm pretty bummed. 3rd attempt to get subs here, foiled again.

Im hoping the lemon grass chicken is good, I'm going to guess 8/10.

Obsideon 08-19-2016 10:05 PM

You gotta go earlier to get the subs lol

lilaznviper 08-20-2016 12:14 AM
