Danbo ramen on robson

Love their meat , very generous, noodles aren't as great as ramen butcher's imo, similar thin noodles but butcher's quality is more noticeable.

More noodles in Danbo tho

7.5/10

Marutama, Danbo and Ramen butcher would be great ramen joints to visit for anyone new here, needa try santouka again since it has been years

dlo 10-05-2016 01:19 AM

santouka is opening up another location on cambie and bway right beside the yolks!

guurl 10-05-2016 11:54 PM

Happy tree house BBQ

7/10

Expensive.... For skewered food lol

The place is always busy full of mandos with nice cars

Yay, new lunch spot on work days. Anyone try that Menya Ramen place on Broadway, east of Cambie on the North side?

Verdasco 10-06-2016 09:05 AM

Santouka

Had the shio (the most creamy broth out of all of them) with extra meat for $2 more I believe

4 pieces of meat total , thick ass pieces, most generous compared to danbo, ramen butcher, marutama

Best value for the buck and proportions. Best char siu. Would go back again

I would rate it Satouka > Danbo or Marutama > Ramen butcher

I am a big fan of thin noodles so I would always prefer Danbo / maru / butchers noodles but the meat , broth, and sizing was just too good @ Santouka

9/10

Mosquito

The food is good is as usual solid 9.5/10, but for whatever reason, the man wearing a suit with pubic hair attached to his face thought he didn't have to explain to me what the things were when they came to my table (he explained for everybody else), and took away my menu and expected me to read off my spouse's when taking my order.

Quattro at Whistler. fine Italian. They got these dining promos during this time of year. $29 for 3 courses ... fabulous food, excellent quality, great service, amazing value!! Pasta was really good! 9.5/10 (Apparently, they have a North Van location)

El Furniture Warehouse - Chang Mai Bowl, Fish Taco, poutine ... everything on menu for $4.95, can't beat the value at Whistler! Choose wisely from their menu and you'll get a great value meal! Can be a bit of wait but well worth it. 7.5/10

One more, 21 Steps, great collection of small plates. Promo: 3 small plates for $26 - Chilli Prawns, bacon wrapped fillet, mussels, baked phylo with cambozolo cheese, Twenty One salad, buttermilk fried chicken, etc. Great ambiance, great food, great value (during promo season). 9/10

Fable..

4 out of 5.

Hondaracer 10-17-2016 05:58 AM

21 steps used to be our kind of go-to in whistler, seems to be super inconsistent in the last few years though

Anh and Chi

7/10

I like the modern look of the restaurant. Food was not terrible but expensive.

Soup of the BBH ($11) was not clear. it was pretty dark.. Tasted ok though.

Viet sub was burnt but whatever I thought it was the best item on the menu ($7).

Combo37 Grilled lemongrass chicken and/or pork chop rice portion was so small. Didn't like the marinate at all. Too sweet!! ($14)

Vietnamese people would hate this place but I can see that they are aiming for the caucasian crowd which is smart lol. It was pretty busy when I went too.

Obsideon 10-18-2016 08:45 PM

I went there a couple months ago.
Nice to dine at a Vietnamese restaurant that isn't all neon'd out with greasy tables. Prices are a bit on the higher end. They have some interesting special dishes, the beef paper salad wrap was really good. The crepe was ok too.
However the pho and BBH were well below average and lacking in flavour.

Brunch at ORU Pacific Rim. $40 plus tip. 4 kinds of eggs bennys made to order. 3 in house made sausages. IIRC 2-3 types of meat roasts. Decent selection of breads. Fruit choices wasn't much but made up for in other items like smashed potatoe chips, pancakes, chocolate chip waffles and dessert table.
9/10 For the price pretty good for brunch buffet. I left full at 2pm and barely ate dinner that night. Would definitely go again. Service was good too (she was also quite a cutie, blonde from montreal) No screaming kids running everywhere as the table next over had 2 boys and they were well behaved

Hon Sushi no top of Earls near willingdon and kingsway - Name can be deceiving, they are half sushi and korean with korean employees. Place is really hidden, haev to walk upstairs, use to be a sushi place before. Great pa dak chicken, one of the best if not the best I had. Places like dasarang and other places in downtwon vancouver SUCKS. This one is crispy, and juicy as fuck. Other food is average/a little above, would go again for the chicken

9/10

cocoru beer and chicken korean food - Bit more expensive, pa dak is not as good as Hon Sushi but soy garlic is pretty juicy. More expensive than Hon Sushi , would probably not go back. Smaller portions

6/10

Cho Sun korean BBQ - love this place, great service always, i love that it has a small restaurant so the servers can notice you right away. Meat is always good and tasty

Got outvoted and had to go OSF in Whistler.
1/10 sounds about right. Over priced and bland food. Most of it was flavourless and my portion of the bill was almost $30 with a beer.

Nothing wrong with the comments about OSF. Most of their stuff is just pasta + sauce for $10-20 LOL.

Only reason the Whistler location still exists is because when lunch/dinner time hits and everything is full, that's the place you go if you don't wanna starve.

punkwax 10-26-2016 06:59 AM

OSF is the absolute worst IMO. Can't think of a chain I'd avoid more.

I'm currently in Disneyland and took the kids to Goofy's kitchen for dinner last night. No joke some of the best turkey I've ever had. Decent ribs also, however the roast beef was a little dry despite being quite pink. Great horseradish though.

9/10 after factoring in the fact my kids cleaned 2 plates and it was entertaining. Would recommend for parents with kids.

Habanero lime margarita was good too but I was hoping it'd be a bit spicier. I regularly toss fresh sliced jalapeņos into tequila and let them marinate before making my margaritas. Kicks it up a notch!

TOS'd 10-26-2016 07:09 AM

^ So many good things to eat at Disneyland!

Hondaracer 10-26-2016 09:05 AM

He's just a bit bitter because I called him a snobby picky eater once. Lol
