THIS.

My friend use to date this broad who would always order a medium rare steak but then send it back because the juices were still pink. I'd tell her to order medium/medium well instead but she would always insist that wasn't supposed to be the cook of medium rare FailFish

speaking of steak houses, planning to take my girl there because shes a big fan of steak. Debating either Hy's or Black and blue. A major thing I love about steakhouses is that caesar salads are made tableside and I friggin love caesars! Have anyone here tasted both Hy's and Blue's caesar salad?Checkd prices, both are around the same

westopher 09-26-2016 12:57 PM

LOL table side caesars. Is there something that tastes better about 1994?
I'd avoid black and blue. A lot of money and I've never heard someone have a good experience there. Hy's, while an old school experience, they do it well.

Armind 09-26-2016 01:16 PM

I want a proper steak meal now :okay:

Hondaracer 09-26-2016 01:42 PM

anyone ordering medium or beyond shouldnt really be debating the done-ness of their steak lol.

Everyone ordering dat double baked potato from the keg? The garlic mash is wayyy tastier imo, especially with the prime rib. Toss a little Jus on there with the onion straws

damnnnn sonnnnn

Armind 09-26-2016 01:53 PM

I only get the double baked potato cause i miss it from Hy's :lawl:

knight604 09-26-2016 06:03 PM

Avoid glowbal group in general imho

Galactic_Phantom 09-26-2016 06:25 PM

Keg Alberni 8/10

Called ahead for them to save me a 24oz prime rib since it was late and no problem at all.
SO's sirloin was a bit overcooked on the side. Medium rare probably was closer to medium. Otherwise no complaints besides slow service

guurl 09-26-2016 06:36 PM

So.. Poke Guy is only open for 4 hours a day?!?!

Went for my bachelor party. Was not entirely in a clear state of mind to enjoy it to the fullest, hence no rating. However, my experience with the dishes I had:

Steak Tartare - 3/10
Way over-seasoned with worcheshire sauce and tabasco, no balance at all.

Porterhouse - 6/10
Very flavorful and fatty, but was a good medium/medium-well when it was asked to be done at medium rare.

Not being in a clear state of mind and still making a rating....lol

I also heard keg can call it double baked because they're baked in a plant, flash frozen, then baked again on site lol

I can't comment on how it's prepared, but essentially it is mash potatoes with baked potato fixings thrown back into the potato skin. You could throw the onion straws and jus on top of that too.

Hy's over B&B, easily. Infact, Keg > B&B.

Why do they close so early?

Galactic_Phantom 09-28-2016 07:26 AM

No lineups when I went.

Don't know. Go ask them yourself.

Speaking of poke...

Pokerrito 7.5/10
Tiny, unmarinated fish, decently sized rice bowl. Don't ever get the burrito, less rice, less toppings, less everything. Doesn't fill up. I'd rate it higher if the people that worked there understood English and weren't derpy af.

Poke Guy 7.5/10
Big marinaded chunks of fish, tiny scoop of rice. $17 for a 3 scoop of fish. Doesn't fill me up at at all. Took points out for value. Wish they had an option to add rice, or just give me more.

sonick 09-28-2016 07:39 AM

I've been going to Banzai, getting their appetizer sashimi and making my own Poke Bowls :fuckyea:

punkwax 09-28-2016 02:45 PM
