How did you get +40? You playing bumper cars with other cars on the road? :D That's quite a few at fault claims to get to a +40.

no, i was -10% just a couple weeks ago, some clown t-boned me when i was going through an intersection, no witnesses so they called it 50/50 cause the other driver said i ran a red.

it goes up 6 steps to +40. so it was only one accident.

Sorry to revive and old thread, yet damn.

I was paying $1300/yr in Ontario, full coverage with $500 deductibles. Here I'm looking at $1900/yr with the same coverage. Since my car is only worth $10K, I'm probably not going to put collision or comprehensive on it and save $700/yr.

What a scam ICBC and the private insurers have going.

I thought Ontario car insurance was a scam, cause Quebec public insurance is cheap.

Its the damn % +/- system ICBC uses. ICBC has a max +% (+40%?), which means even the worst drivers can get insurance. In Ontario there is no max, if you're a bad driver they'll quote you $10K+ to convince you not to drive and get bad drivers off the road.
