Just a tip to those going to NY, I suggest flying from Seattle. Prices right now are much cheaper than out of YVR, as well as more direct flights.

Theres:
AC with 1 connection to LGA, which is a really crappy airport.
Continental direct to Newark, NJ
Cathay direct to JFK, but its a red eye so I land at 7am lol.

Right now leaning towards Cathay cause of their service and its direct.
I took Cathay Pacific. Booked online for 4 days, 3 nights @ Roosevelt Hotel for $980 after tax.

Just got back yesterday from NY.

HELLA hot as shit down there. Busy city, not my forte but definitely a place to visit again.

Any more recommendations for eats in NY?

Preferably not fine dining unless it can be missed. Any of the Momofuku restaurants worth going to? Or NY style pizza recommendations?

Bark Hotdogs - excellent hot dogs
Shake Shack @ Madison Square Park - popular burger stand with long ass lines
Buttermilk Channel - suppose to have the best fried chicken in town
DB GB - Daniel Boulud's sausage restaurant
Minetta Tavern - get the "cote de boeuf" or the black label burger. the cote de boeuf is 42-46 oz bone in with giant roasted marrow bones

I remember going to soho and then randomly hitting a street that was lined up with a whole bunch of italian restaurants that probably extended for 4-5 blocks. ALL italian restaurants that serve authentic italian pasta/seafood/pizza. And once you enter the street, you'll have waiters trying to get you to dine at their restaurant. Its a must see/go if you go to NYC.

Edit: I remember the name of the street. It's called Little Italy

I ended up staying at Hosteling International

Decent place, on the cleaner side for a hostel. No hotel by any means.

They offered walking tours in the AM by donation. Good way to start the day and meet people.

I recommend Little Owls in west part of Greenwich village. Good food, friendly staff. You won't get any of the snob attitude that you can get from staff in some of the well known restaurants in NYC.

the little owl | 90 Bedford Street, NYC

some parts are yes, but Brooklyn has grown so much over the years. tons of ppl flock here now cause it is a great place for food and bars and pubs, i can not remember the street name but there is a street and it has like so many pubs on it, its nice to go get a beer there pretty chill atmosphere, da fara pizza is unreal well worth the wait. green-wood cemetery is pretty crazy. walking along the Brooklyn heights is great, crazy view of NY and the skyline and if u r willing to go all the way to coney island there is that also
