That penalty couldn't be helped. Hossa was going strong and starting to skate circles around our players in our own zone. Despite being a step behind, he didn't let up on Hossa. Unfortunate but a good penalty IMO. Certainly better than not-getting-a-penalty but allowing Hossa the space to gain momentum.

He played a great game last night. I'd say the two goals that Detroit scored on him were near perfect shots.

the 2nd goal was near perfect shot
the 1st goal went in cuz he wasn't big enough, haha

the NHL has already launched an investigation in regards to that because apparently alot of Montreal fans are using this mozilla add on which enables you to constantly spam the vote. Yes you can vote as many times as you can but not with automated programs.

I got home right after hearing Detroit's 2nd goal on the radio and thought "Game Over". Turned the TV on 10 mins later, and was totally shocked to see the Canucks on the PP in OT, and saw Salo's GWG!

My 7-month old son always jumps when I'm holding him and I shout whenever the Canucks score. :)

I'm glad Sanford is getting his wins, but I'm sick of seeing his interviews and him saying "you know..." repeatedly!!

on a side note quit slacking off and lets get the twins into the all star game!

AzNightmare 11-25-2008 01:08 PM

wow... just under 5 mins left in the 3rd... and Islanders go on to win in the shootout. lol

I've seen plenty of bad own goals, including the one where (I think) Adam Oates was behind the opposing net on a delay call and tried to center the puck or pass it back to the point but it missed everyone and it went all the way down the ice into his own empty net.

But this one... no idea what he was doing. The shot wasn't hard enough if he was trying to bank it on the boards behind the net. and he wasn't ringing it around the boards...

He said he was trying to play it back to Price - too bad he didn't know Price wasn't in net at the time!

looked to me like he was playing it back to the goalie, but didnt realize he'd gone to the bench for an extra attacker.

Pat Verbeek did this famously when he was on the Hartford Whalers... remember (laughing at) it like yesterday :)

the top scoring LW in the Western conference isn't worthy of making the all star game? They both have 21 pts in 22 games, on pace for 78 point seasons...

Henrik is 4th among Western Conference centers which should earn him strong consideration as well.

It never ceases to amaze me how much some people underrate the Sedins....

becuz the western conference is still based on the EAST in the NHL
and sadly, the big names that are marketed since they had their really standout season up north would be iggypop..thats about it

we are a big HOCKEY MARKET in our own nation, but to the american's we are nothing. Luongo is mentioned TOO MUCH, but consider this, if Lu had always played in the west, do you think he can stir up this muh attention

Vancouver is a big hockey market PERIOD....do you think LA, Phoenix, San Jose and other bigger NHL cities in the US are full of hockey fans? Not a chance..... even people in Philly and Chicago, decently "strong" US NHL cities, don't give a shit about hockey compared to baseball, football, and college sports. I guarantee Vancouver has more casual AND die hard hockey fans than both of those much larger cities, even when the team sucks. Have you ever tried to catch a game when you're in the US? Good luck, they'll probably have arena football on tv instead.

Besides, the initial post was that they weren't "worthy", not that they wouldn't be recognized by the media/league due to being in the West.

not to shit on you but playing the puck back to the goalie is already a bad idea LOL

AzNightmare 11-26-2008 12:43 AM

Henrik's a great centerman, he can be a candidate for the All-Star. But I think the competition for wingers is too big, and Daniel has to do more in order to get in.
