they were playing an important road game and had to get back to defensive basics to make sure they had the best chance possible to win with Schneider in net, up until that point he was totally unproven under the stress of a real NHL game so i thought they did the right thing..

they clearly were playing that way early on, but as soon as it became 2-0 you saw them switch up the style back to the one which they usually play with Lu in net, a harder agressive forecheck which creates chances and in turn created a goal

if it wasnt for the 3rd goal from the flames im sure they would have had at least 2 more good chances before it was over

I agree that it took 2 goals and close to 50 min of play for them to finally change their style and make an attempt at something, but if you say they were "playing" a defensive game, why did they give up so many 2 on 1's? I had totally thought they have been playing the dump and chase game since Lu has been hurt, but maybe Honda is watching games I didnt know were on.

lol, after two losses and everyone is arguing with each other already.
Canucks won several divisional games in this season already (including calgary early in the season). So what if they lose two to divisional rivals. It happens to every team. Not the end of the season.

hotjoint 11-30-2008 09:48 PM

2 loses aint nothing, we still have a good record

I think I posted a week back or so, I've noticed they've been dump and chase for awhile. But it also seemed like Calgary did a pretty good job clogging up the neutral zone to slow everyone down too.

Ok, you jump off first and never come back.

Everyone should just relax. Nobody expected us to win the division. If we do, that's a bonus but I'll pass that up as long as we make the playoffs and surprise everyone then.

We don't need another division title, we want a cup damn it haha

Every team has a bump in the road thats all OMFG they lost 2 straight games what are we going to do.

So I heard on 1040 this morning that rumours are floating around that sundin will decide what team he will be playing for within the week.

Also just read on tsn that Burke has already requested permission to speak to nonis.

Unless there's some info of "Mats Sundin" himself saying anything, I don't care. We've heard too many rumors from the media, and I don't trust anything his agent says.

Grandmaster TSE 12-01-2008 11:58 AM

not gonna trust anything until i see sundin in a jersey on the ice playing in an NHL game

Not really racist! 12-01-2008 12:00 PM

It's not so much the two straight divisional losses. Its aboout recovering from them and playing real hockey again. Considering were have a road trip and without Lu.

Grandmaster TSE 12-01-2008 12:29 PM

oh man, more injuries to our players

hordichuk out with hair line fracture

Mon, Dec 1 Luongo (groin) hit the ice for Monday's skate around. He did a few laps, but did not take any shots, the Vancouver Sun reports.
Recommendation: "It's a positive step in the right direction," Luongo said. "We'll take it from here day by day. It was a small step today and we're going to gradually try and increase the workload every day. It's just nice to be back on the ice." That's some good news for Luongo owners. If he continues to progress, Luongo might not be out the four weeks that his agent originally reported.

fobulaus 12-01-2008 03:33 PM

here comes the almighty canucks PP

fobulaus 12-01-2008 03:43 PM

hey does anyone know why curtis sanford always stands infront of the net after the period is over, tapping the side of the net with his stick like hes counting something?

nsmb 12-01-2008 03:48 PM

ritual / superstition etc...

Harvey Specter 12-01-2008 03:49 PM

What a shit period from the Canucks. This game would have been 3-0 if it wasn't for Sanford.

They talked about it on Global last week and like nsmb said it's a ritual. Willie also has a weird ass ritual he does.
