sure Raymond can skate fast, but really what else has he done all season? when he skates into the offensize zone more often then not he will attempt to go to the net and in the process give up a juicy turn over

he's a plus 5 and is on pace for 18 goals....nothing wrong with that for a 2nd liner who's only in his first full year in the league...

Raymonds problem is that he never passes. If he started to pass more, hes not half bad. He is good at gaining the offensive zone though.

He's too fast for his own good. Raymond is the type of player who excepts a tape to tape pass when he's on the fly at top speed. His playing style is pretty similar to Brandon Reid. When Sundin gains his form and starts setting up Raymond and he still doesn't produce, then yes, I will agree to take him off the the line.

I know players like Raymond. It's not that he never passes, but his on-ice vision and overall hockey sense hasn't matured yet. Somewhat to be expected as its his first full season as a Canuck. Unless you're the Bure or Gaborik type, most players can't keep their head fully up while stickhandling at top speed.

When he slows his game down, his passing game is much better but you rarely will see that as his game dynamic is the high-speed, uptempo type. For the next couple of years, I'll have to give him the benefit of the doubt.

OUCH! The slow motion replay was brutal. Hope he feels better soon.

They say there's nothing wrong with a shot on net but I find Raymond often puts it right in the goalie's crest when he has someone to pass to.

On the other hand Sedins are always looking for the pass rather than shooting and look how they're crucified by Vancouver fans for that.

No win situation I suppose. NHL goalies give very little to shoot at if anything so you're damned if you do and damned if you don't (shoot)

Harvey Specter 01-10-2009 02:32 PM

Like I said before....Raymond is all show with no finish.
