Labarbera has been doing great. Definitely worth the 7th round pick with gave up for him.

He was..

Then he dropped off the radar... And LA didn't want to wait it out.

Oh well, good for us  I hope we keep him as Luongo's back up. As much as I like sandford, I like Labarbera more :D

AzNightmare 01-09-2009 09:54 AM

I don't think Sanford is gonna get to play again as long as Labarbara keeps doing his job well. (It's tough, but it's business. Sanford had his chance) Labarbera's record isn't bad either. No regulation losses so far. 2-0-2. He's a guaranteed "point per game" goalie... lol

trdees 01-09-2009 09:55 AM

we practicly got barbie for free cuz we got like a 5th rounder for CLOUTIER before LOL

411ken 01-09-2009 09:58 AM

I agree, sandford had his chance to play some games and he didn't do well. Time for a change... send sandford to an East team for a pick so we don't have to face us haha.

Vancouver trades G Dan Cloutier to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a 2007 2nd Round draft pick.

trdees 01-09-2009 10:08 AM

worst trade in history^

AzNightmare 01-09-2009 11:33 AM

Who did Canucks get for the 2nd round draft?

2nd Round Pick - Traded to the Chicago Blackhawks on February 26th, 2007 in exchange for F Bryan Smolinski.**

Blackhawks ended up taking Akim Aliu with that pick.

This issue is with sanfords injury issues. You need a good strong back up you don't have to worry about getting hurt. By Sanford getting hurt doesn't make him reliable which is needed in a back up since he doesn't play that often.

What a waste. I hated how the Canucks kept trading away decent draft picks before for a bunch of Jabornis like Eric Weinrich, Sopel and Smolinski.

hi5-ive 01-09-2009 01:29 PM

hansen is playing 4th line with johnson and hori

411ken 01-09-2009 01:53 PM

AV should get fired if he breaks that line up now hahaha.

My bad. I thought it meant that Hansen was going to be re-instated to his old line.

Sanford has had issues with an old groin injury, makes you wonder if Lu will have similar problems down the road.

Gumby 01-09-2009 02:12 PM

One obvious thing Labarbera has over Sanford is size. Labarbera's huge at 6'3 and blocks a lot of the net. Sanford's only 5'10, and I remember seeing a lot of goals scored over his shoulder!
