Not 100% sure, but just off the top of my head. When the Canucks were up by a goal, I think he was in the box for 4 game tying goals. Which of course lead to Canucks eventual loss.

Can't say it was his fault, but still, that's a bad coincidence if you want to call it that.

Harvey Specter 01-29-2009 01:08 AM

I always wonder if I will ever, in my lifetime, see a Canucks team as good as Boston, SJ or the Wings.

trduhs 01-29-2009 01:10 AM

I wonder in my lifetime will the canucks win a fucking cup

Harvey Specter 01-29-2009 01:17 AM

Lol, it'll take 50 years to be the best team in the NHL so add another 50 for a cup.

pandalove 01-29-2009 01:20 AM

lol .. win the cup ... i'm just hoping the canucks win a game right now

ShyGuy 01-29-2009 01:39 AM

Pat Quinn! hahah

AzNightmare 01-29-2009 01:53 AM

As time goes on, I predict more cities will have a NHL team... so it seems bleak for the Canucks winning the cup... the competition just gets bigger as time goes on.

Harvey Specter 01-29-2009 02:37 AM

Actually I predict the NHL will drop a few teams.

Harvey Specter 01-29-2009 04:47 AM

Read this on the Vancouver Sun website;

"Embattled Canuck coach Alain Vigneault kept the media waiting for several minutes after the game as he met behind closed doors with general manager Mike Gillis."

I wonder what Gillis and AV were talking about.

SkinnyPupp 01-29-2009 06:12 AM

I wonder if it's soon enough for me to say "I told you so" yet?

:werd: we need a new coach, canucks need to fire shots at the net every chance they get not cycle the puck until options run out then send it out to the point where our D men with the exception of salo miss the net everytime they slap it. We're not crashing the net either. Dump and chase isnt doing shit for us. On a side note pyatt had many chances and he didnt bury them but he was in good postion, he needs to keep that up

Blah_Teggie 01-29-2009 07:16 AM

I would love to see either John Tortorella or Pat Quinn here to take over. I don't think AV's mean enuff.

bossxx 01-29-2009 07:25 AM

But he won coach of the year like 2 years ago. At least give him another month lol

Only because we had a goalie who couldn't outplay a Shooter Tutor.

I'm so fuckin' done with this coach, but for some reason, I can't hate the team (like them, I have given up too). There's almost no point to support the team. Even if they do manage to 60% - 70% the last 35 games and manage to squeek into the playoffs, who the fuck are they going to play on the first round? Detroit/San Jose? And if by some miracle they do get past the first round, will they still be solid enough to play either Detroit or San Jose on the 2nd round.

Let's worry about the playoffs later. Most important thing right now is to get back on track and MAKE the playoffs. As long as we make it, I wouldn't mind playing anyone as anyone can win anytime and we still have Luongo.

Imagine if we lose Saturday's game and the next day, they have the skills competition lol.. that's going to be "fun" lol

SHARKY! 01-29-2009 10:02 AM

Why does everyone blame the coach. I mean AV can only do so much "coaching" whereas the players are the ones that ARE playing the game and losing it.

AV is a good coach other than his constant line changes like no other. Even if they were to be playing as a defensive shut down team, its not the coaches fault that the team can't keep the puck out of the net.

411ken 01-29-2009 10:13 AM

^ Good example is the game against the sharks..
1-0.. all we did for the rest of the game was "defend lead"...do you see any other good teams doing this? If all he wants the team to do is defend the blue line then of course it will catch up to them soon and lead to a goal...I agree that he is a good coach but with how the team is going and responding to his system then I think it's time for a change. The whole team is playing like crap and unfortunately, the coach takes the first bullet most of the time.... maybe a new coach can bring in new energy and the guys will be excited to play again.

Of course no player will say that they don't like the coach, etc...

its AV's problem that he can't see that that strategy isn't working ....
we lost 7 games straight ....

What strategy is that? When the Canucks try to be offensive they are, but then suck at their own end. When they're trying to be defensive they can't defend for their life. So then if they can't be either offensive or defensive what's left? Like I said. AV can only coach so much and its up to the team to win the games.

I mean say if we bring in a new coach whats that gonna solve and how is the new coach going to fix what we have now?

Its the players, not the coach.

Yup! and 8 in a row at home.. when things aren't working anymore like they used to. it's time for a change....

Man... if you were a canuck and you said all this... i guarantee you'll be on the first line with Pyatt lol....If they bring in a new coach, it'll bring in a new atmosphere.. excitement...who even knows if these players like playing for AV right now...
