Fastest Skater: Mason Raymond – 13.558 sec Hardest Shot: Alex Edler – 103.0 MPH Shooting Accuracy: Mason Raymond – 4 out of 7 |
Just got back from the Canucks Superskills. I was sick as a dog, but went because I couldn't unload the tickets. Anyway, I'm glad I went. It was refreshing. Sitting in a building with other die hard Canuck fans. Probably not the type that could afford to go to a single game, but love their Canucks through thick or thin. It was a very positive atmosphere. A nice little change. Sundin was there, too. Boy, that Wellwood is smooth going around the pylons. Fastest skater was Raymond. He didn't fall or stumble this time around, but Johnson, who I thought would give him a run for the money did stumble. Hardest shot was Edler again with 103+ MPH shot. Followed by 102's by Salo and Ohlund. These are pretty good numbers as whatshisnuts in this year's NHL Superstars competition broke the hardest shot record with a 105 MPH shot. The last event, the break away event, was awesome. Overall, it was a good charity event where everybody got to forget about the recent slump and have a good time. None of this booing bullshit. Everyone was upbeat and the players looked like they had a really good time. Perhaps this will loosen them up and we'll see them do a little better on Tuesday. |
I heard noone got pied.. AV should've got pied |

what was mike gartners record for fastest skater? |
13.386 seconds |
For the fastest skater they also had the nets moved ioff the goal line, where as at the all star game they were left in the regular position. |
all star fastest skate , only one net was left in the regular position. |
i had such a hangover going into the superskills, glad i went though |

So when is AV getting the ax! :haha: |
Exactly.. the Sens are a good team but it's time to shake things up there and stop putting all the blame on the coach.. what about getting that team a goalie...they won't have any problems scoring but they need a goalie. Once they do, they'll be back.. As for AV... I hope SOON lol |
Not surprised with the Sens firing. The team has been on a free fall for most of the season. AV is still far from been fired because we're still in the playoff picture. |

Did anyone hear SOB call out AV for benching him and they ask him to fight more often? haha. I know he has a lot of PIM but he also has a pretty good +/-. Atleast SOB will drop the gloves if shit happens but I haven't seen Bieksa do this in a while but instead, he decides to give this annoying stare every single fucking time lol... anyone else annoyed by that? |

The Sens are a one line team with no goalie - much like the Canucks (well, we have a goalie when Luongo is healthy). There's no secondary scoring and if the top line doesn't score, they're SOL. When Emery and Gerber were at their prime, they'd have a little help from the goaltenders, but now that the top line is being blanked, and the goalie situation is a mess, they've gone downhill. Fortunately the Canucks have one of the best goalies in the league backing them up and haven't gone into the same freefall as Ottawa - however, if we continue down this road, I wouldn't be surprised if Luongo decides to go sign with a contender when his contract is up and we'll end up in the same free fall as Ottawa... We really need to step up the scoring and get some good offense going. 40 shots on goal is a good start, but how many were actual great scoring chances? We also need to get bodies out front of the net at the right time. It frustrates me to no end watching a Canuck behind the opposition's net, and not a single body out front of the goal to help out. Highlight reel or garbage goal - we'll take anything right about now.... |
Actually 40 shots is not a bad start at all even if they aren't real scoring chances. Canucks have yet to learn how to throw the puck at net. Which is why their PP is all fancy passing and no shots. Just my personal opinon/gut feeling. Canucks won't get on a hot streak until late Feb or early March. They might play mediocre though until then... And just for fun, I'll predict Canucks next win will actually be against the mighty Blackhawks this Saturday... lol... |
I doubt Lu will jump ship and sign with a contender because no one really knows what team will be a contender come next season. Perfect example is Boston because who would have bet that they would be one of the elite teams in the NHL this season. |
