Saw it. I was hoping to see more of that incident.

Good on him (the Edmonton fan who tore it up), hate those stupid attention whore people who block everyone's sightlines standing up with their stupid sign or to wave at friends and crap every single time the pick goes into a corner.

LOL that was hilarious! The guy who had the sign, his friend looked so disappointed when the Oiler fan ripped it up! That was hilarious! I don't blame him one bit - he was even doing it when play was going on and on the powerplay...so good on the oiler fan...

I see those Terrace is Hockeyville signs at GM Place all the time...

What's the story on that? And what's it doing @ Vancouver & Edmonton games? Just attention-whoring for Terrace?

MR_BIGGS 04-05-2009 01:05 AM

Pretty much...

http://terracehockeyville.com/

CBC runs a competition on which community is "Hockyville" and this year Terrace, BC won..I think for the 2nd time even maybe...

Nonetheless..I guess ppl from Terrace are at the games and people from there are a proud bunch so they bring a frickin sign...

CBC runs the damn competition so they know there's a good chance there going to get on TV>..stupid whores..

MG1 04-05-2009 02:28 AM

It's the first time a town in BC has won. Never understood people who bring signs to games.

It's not just a title... the winning town becomes broadcast central for next year's Hockey Day in Canada, all the CBC celebs are there, as well as a bunch of big NHL names, and they get an NHL pre-season game played there (Terrace will have the Islanders and Canucks). And THAT necessitates a bunch of upgrades to one of the local rinks, which of course, CBC pays for.

So yeah, it's a pretty big deal for the town, beyond just pride.

^^ That's awesome...

So tonight we got the Av's...I think on CBC they were saying they've been in town for a few days as they flew in after their game Wednesday..

Hopefully they went to the Roxy or something in last two nights like younger teams often do when they come to Vancouver!! :eek5x:

TOUGH and IMPORTANT game tonight!:bigthumb:

MR_BIGGS 04-05-2009 11:41 AM

The good ol Roxy hangover effect!

Noir 04-05-2009 01:08 PM

OR, maybe we could just beat them by playing a skilled, tight-low-error game.

The boys can do it. Just don't know why our D is just lax this past few. First it was Bieksa getting dangled by TJ Oshie, then Mitchell on Gagne.

It's just hard to take when you know our boys, especially Mitchell is better than that.

anyone with pics?

Durrann1984 04-05-2009 02:45 PM

^^ LOL show the front show the front!

Soundy 04-05-2009 05:08 PM

Heh, don't have any of the front... got a few of some of the other signs they had, but that was the best of the bunch just because Cunningham was in the box just then. I think these girls were about 14-15.
