RIOT TONIGHT!!!!!!!

Not really racist! 04-05-2009 08:27 PM

Can't even enter the attacking zone on the PP

ROFL

fobulaus 04-05-2009 08:29 PM

The offense hasn't been that brutal, at least they've had a handful of chances... but the defense, was just complete garbage... SOB runs into bieska, edler and ohlund give aways, all resulting in goals..

Score prediction for Tuesday anybody?

Armind 04-05-2009 08:31 PM

3-2 canucks

No, started just before that against Anaheim.

I duno man, I thought we did pretty decent in that game, considering we were up against a stacked and desperate anaheim team..

LUUUUUUUU 04-05-2009 08:50 PM

yea they started playing sloppy and careless since the Carly Bragnalo tragedy... bad sign heading towards the playoffs, just hope they get back on track

winson604 04-05-2009 08:53 PM

maybe this is a blessing in disguise. We have been wooping ass and had the highest winning percentage since Feb 1st. Maybe losing a few here isn't the worst thing just as long as the slide doesn't go on for games and games like January. Only time will tell. Ah wells.

teaoh 04-05-2009 09:00 PM

im just hoping that we dont play teams like CBJ or Anaheim in the first round!

It wasn't as bad as these last two games, but giving up five goals and losing after being up 5-3 weren't particularly encouraging signs...

elmo3 04-05-2009 09:35 PM

ouch

k3lv 04-05-2009 10:47 PM

went to the game tonight, so disappointed but there will be days where a team loses. This was a costly lost for the Nucks. They need to quit sandbaggin it and put some fucking effort into these MUST WIN GAMES against lower tier opponents

omg. can't believe you went there dude. Yes this was a tragic to Pyatt but do you think that an employee's gf can derail a franchise?

trancehead 04-06-2009 12:46 AM

wow lu has a bad game
and all you guys are jumping ship. Calm the fuck down.

Durrann1984 04-06-2009 12:48 AM

Maybe... but replacing Demitra with MASON RAYMOND on the 2nd line definately does tho....

goo3 04-06-2009 01:31 AM

seems like the way to beat this canucks team is to pack it in down low with 5 guys on D and attack them with speed on offense, just like phoenix did.

Canucks sign FA D prospect Evan Oberg http://www.areavoices.com/rinkandrun/?blog=48103

Quote:

“Evan’s a smart hockey player with offensive ability and an edge to his game,” UMD coach Scott Sandelin said. “He’s very competitive and by putting him in a lot of situations, the end result is a pretty good player.”

Sandelin moved Oberg to his forehand side on power plays against Denver and the defenseman responded with a goal in a 4-2 victory. He had three points in a 6-5 home win over Western Michigan on Oct. 18.

As he’s improved, the undrafted player has drawn the interest of NHL teams.

“He’s a heads-up defenseman who makes crisp passes and can find a seam, see the lane and shoot the puck,” said UMD assistant Brett Larson, a former Bulldog defenseman.
Quote:

Evan Oberg, who closed out his Canadian junior league playing days last April by being bestowed with the Top Defenseman Award at the prestigious Royal Bank Cup, has signed a national letter of intent to attend and play hockey for the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2007-08.

A 6-0, 180-pound native of Forestburg, Alberta, Oberg helped lead the Alberta Junior Hockey League playoff titleholder Camrose Kodiaks to the semifinal round of the Royal Bank Cup (Canada Junior A championships) while topping all Kodiak blueliners in post-season points with 14 in 16 games.
Nice job so far by Gillis being proactive and adding to the Canucks prospect depth, thats 2 out of the top 10 NCAA free agents signed, they also signed Walsky earily too and rumor is the Canucks are one of the teams on a short list to sign Gilroy too.

Top 10 NCAA free agents
1. Matt Gilroy, 6-2/195, D, Boston University
2. Tyler Bozak, 6-0/180, C, Denver Pioneers
3. John Mitchell, 6-5/200, LW, Wisconsin
4. Christian Hanson, 6-3/202, C, Notre Dame
5. Trevor Bruess, 6-0/192, C, Minnesota State
6. Evan Oberg, 6-2/180, D, Minnesota Duluth
7. Eric Walsky, 5-11/194, RW, Colorado College
8. Brad Thiessen, 6-0/180, G, Northeastern
9. Sean Backman, 5-9/170, C, Yale Bulldogs
10. Paul Crowder, 6-2 180, RW, Alaska Anchorage

We've went 21-5 or something for the past 2 months with Demitra/Sundin/Kesler-Burrows/Sedin/Sedin- and all of a sudden Demitra gets sent to the 3rd line? I know the line hasn't been connecting as of late but let them work through their little slump and get them ready for the playoffs.. putting raymond on the 2nd line doesn't do crap...and don't tell me AV is trying to have scoring in all 3 lines...like ya.. that's working well..

He finally got top 2 lines and he breaks them up after losing a couple of games =\. He should even be lucky he has a job after all that juggling he had before and our losing streak..

hotjoint 04-06-2009 07:51 AM

ugly last 2 games. Why is it that we always suck against the shitty teams, but we can hang with the good ones? I think the canucks are underestimating the shittier teams. And whats with AV's line juggling again? fack, with the team we have, we've proved that we can win. Once playoffs start we better not choke again.

Yeah that was definitely questionable, especially since our current run at February should have established our top 6 forwards. My best guess is that Demitra's hurt and needs to take a lesser role for the remaining few reg. season games.

IIRC, Demo was supposed to take some time off for an injury but decided to play through it last minute with Pyatt taking over his role momentarily. Of course we know why Pyatt couldn't come in and relieve Demo of his role.

Regardless...

The reduced role of Demo shouldn't really derail a team. Demo contributes but the team is nowhere near centralized on him (Sedins line) nor his line alone is even centralized on him (either Kesler or Sundin).

Can't really explain the loss. The boys shouldn't be losing to PHX, EDM, STL or COL. They're better than that and they know it.
