damn satan signed with penguins, he wouldve been a good fit with the sedins |
in all cases if we are the worst team and we do lose on the lottery we still get the second pick.. which is still either hedman or tavares... |

Wow, this team officially has no offensive talent left. |
goddammit -- i said it last year -- we should've TRADED naslund so that we could've at least gotten a bag of pucks, since it was obvious he wasn't gonna be re-signed here. once again, we lose something of value, for nothing. |
San Jose Sharks sign UFA defenceman Rob Blake to a one-year, $5 million contract. |

I guess we have to face reality; we're in a rebuilding phase and the chances of having a cup contending team might be a long ways off. |
So..........who do we trade Luongo for now? |
Honestly, I'm not sure Blake is worth that kind of money anymore. He reminds me of Sami Salo in his inconsistent presence in the lineup. Furthermore, I would like to point out a couple of things centered around Luongo. - With Luongo, we will NOT fall to the bottom of the league. We will not get a top pick. Forget it. We have an elite goaltender. One capable of stealing many games. We will be a mediocre team with no front line. But with Luongo in net, this team will not sink to the bottom. - With Luongo in 'net we CAN draw in big name agents. Building a team ahead of an elite goaltender is a very lucrative pull to a player hungry for the cup. This isn't some shithole city like Edmonton or Nashville. We have a great place to live, a very hungry owner and a great goalie. The Pronger-Edmonton stigma does not apply here. The cards are falling, not in our favour just yet, but hang tight and let them all fall first. Kev |
i don't think it was obvious we weren't gunna sign naslund last season. it looks like he still wanted to play for the canucks this year and if nonis was here, it might've happened. 4 mil for naslund in today's market isn't horrible..he might have given us a discount too. maybe nonis had a little deal with burke to get bertuzzi back here. not like we'll ever know now. i don't care what you guys say! WCE 4 lyfe! |
There's nothing left in the UFA, who's going to come? Sundin? who is he going to play with mason raymond? UFA pools are getting thinner and thinner; teams are willing and starting to lock up their young talent for many years, all that's left is just oldies who are about to hang their skates. |

With the Luongo questions and all, I honestly think that if we can't get anywhere near the cup next season, he will not resign just because he's turning 30 next year I think, and he wants to win a cup in his prime as the #1. |
lol @ don taylor and blake price arguing over the radio :lol sounds like they're 2 minutes away from slugging it out |
I have my doubts about Lu sticking around after his contract is up. I mean hell he might look at the team we have right now and ask for a trade! |
lmao@that 1 caller "well were screwed" LAWL |
unreal .... |
sundin = messier part 2. |

sundin CLEARLY ISNT GONAN SIGN |
I don't know why you guys are THAT shocked, it was obvious that Naslund was going to go (and you'd be equally shocked if he stayed), and Gillis still has the whole summer to make some moves |
