My work neighbor must be really thrilled the nucks are playing the hawks. He's Brent Seabrookes dad. i think I'm gonna go up to his face and yell "Canucks rule" to him. lol

Yeah, i figured that. But why is that poster calling it shitty start times? For the Chicago fans? Who cares about them...haha

Not really racist! 04-28-2009 11:08 PM

Times are from NHL.com so they are eastern...

It's horrible for my schedule at least

For a lot of people who live or work in the valley, it's hard to get to GM Place by that time. Mind you, if I had tickets to a Canuck's game, I'd say, "Fuck work," and leave early.

AzNightmare 04-29-2009 12:39 AM

If your boss is a big Canuck fan, he will allow you to skip work and leave early. He'll be doing the same. :D

i already said this
lol
but the sedins will not be a short term thing, so theres a good and bad
Hossa will nto be long term, thats a known fact judging how he just jumps around

AWESOME TIME !!!!!!!!!!
but feel sorry for other canucks fan who can barely make it

411ken 04-29-2009 07:33 AM

Why are we even talking about the offseason? lol

But just to keep going...would you pay 6mill or 7 mill for Calamari? now, would you really pay him that much?. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he get only like 40-50 pts last year and this year he has 80+ playing with iggy?

I wish we could have gotten Franzen.. now that was a bargain!

411ken 04-29-2009 07:34 AM

Game 1 tomorrow!! Imagine the rush hour home tomorrow cuz everyone tries to get home on time due to the crazy 6pm start lol

He'll get 5.5-6.5 as a UFA, they always get overpaid. Look at Gomez and Drury.

I'm not going to flame you I don't think he's worth that much either. The problem is it's the market that determines his worth and sets the bar.

On the topic of UFA's the Sedins are a must sign whatever the cost. There are only a handful of 80+ point guys in the NHL and it's all but impossible to replace two of them. Even if there were two available you can't replace two of them for any cheaper then what the Sedins would sign for here. On the open market someone will come up with the 6.5-7 the Sedins want and pay them it, probably Toronto.

Gh0stRider 04-29-2009 08:47 AM

No way...Hudler better stay with the wings. love that guy.

Looking at next year's UFA, I don't think its a question of If but more of When they sign the twins. Probably see one of those super long term deals to lower the cap hit.

lol @ Gomez, Drury, Redden's contracts!

I wouldn't count on it. At the beginning of last year, with the cap going up a steady 10-15% every year, maybe... but GMs know, any deal they make like that will screw them after next season. Two UFAs like that and a third of your cap space will be gone. Player agents know this as well, and know that their players will have to start accepting either less money, or a very short term, or they simply won't be getting a deal.

Gillis has the same problem with the Sedins - I'm sure he'd have no problem paying them $5.5-$6M apiece, but it's just not feasible to do so without blowing out almost every other player making more than $2M before the 2010/11 season.

They will sign here and it won't be for less then 6 million. Quote it, sig it and call me on it if I'm wrong come next season. :)

Quoted for future reference.

^ Nice job quoting him although that post will be buried down in pages by the time the offseason comes lol.

AzNightmare 04-29-2009 11:18 AM

Make it a signature then. So it doesn't get burried. :)

I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong if I'm wrong. I'm not always right, just most the time. :)

Harvey Specter 04-29-2009 01:45 PM

Go Canucks Go!!!!!!!!

gars 04-29-2009 02:04 PM

i'm just hoping the sedins want to stay canucks enough that they might actually take a pay cut. you hear some of the other guys on the team talking about taking a slight pay cut - because they think that if it frees up cap space, and allows for better players to join the team, they have a better chance at the cup.

Harvey Specter 04-29-2009 02:07 PM

NHLPA doesn't like when players talk pay cuts and they made that clear earlier in the season when Ryan K was talking about pay cuts.

gars 04-29-2009 02:22 PM

why don't they like that? it'd be better for the team - and this IS a team sport....

is it because it will bring up issues about the cap?
