I can see Gillis resigning the twin's. Without them, they have to replace 2 #1 line players. As much as i like Burrows and Kesler, they might have been over played in the playoffs and were not able to reproduce what they did in the regular season with the new lines.

Demitra is here for another year on the second line, and in all honesty, I think the Wellwood, Bernier, Raymond third line looked pretty good.
Hordochuk, Rypen, and Johnson 4th line showed some good in them too.

All I know is, it is going to be a lot of tough descisions for Gillis this off season.

Yes, it should have been an easy save for Lu... but even the best players in the game make mistakes.

wellwood?? really. even though he's been playing well, if they plan on using him as a 3rd line center i'm sure they can pick up someone better especially if the the 1st line center is taken up by henrik and the 2nd line by hodgson.

Cody Hodgson will not be a second line center in his rookie season. He's too young to play big minutes in the NHL. I have a feeling he'll play a bigger role in Manitoba next season. However if he does play with the Canucks he'll only be a 3rd or 4th liner. You look at a great defensive center like Datsyuk and how the Wings didn't rush him into playing big minutes right away. He pretty much spent his first year on checking lines.

Ch28 05-11-2009 09:28 PM

My god...so many idiot callers are shitting on Lu its funny

Not really racist! 05-11-2009 09:30 PM

Can't wait for my bandwagon friends at school to start bashing Lu.

odotodoMAN 05-11-2009 09:33 PM

There were lots of unlucky bounces in the game too....

Razor Ramon HG 05-11-2009 09:42 PM

Well.. Hodgson was recalled to Manitoba today. Let's see how he does in the AHL playoffs!

pandalove 05-11-2009 09:52 PM

Tim Budong 05-11-2009 09:54 PM

Im not going to read the replies...
all i can say is..
as much as the team "showed up"...Luongo is the first to carry it all on his shoulders
so what now?

The sedins proved that they are worth the money they are asking. Everyone did their part except Lu. I am truely broken.

Is it the pressure? or was it just taht hte hawks were too good?

as for Luongo bashing, im not going to bash him. I do not think its fair for the man that kept us in it for the playoffs

As for Sundin, yea the points production wasnt there, but his pressence was felt this series

It was a good season, had a lot of up and downs but hell it's Vancouver, not Detroit. I can say that this team far exceeded my expectations. I remember before the season started, I said as long as we have some entertaining/exciting hockey, I'd be content.

Undeniably I am quite dissapointed, but for what it's worth the Canucks did put up a fight.

Looking forward to the changes for next season.

edit: I agree with chilli, all the Lu bashing is unnecessary. He will always be the first to blame. This just shows how great of an impact having a top-notch goalie is to the team. A lot of people will say how great our d-men are, but really this shows that they're nothing more than mediocre. It all leads back to all the 'what if's'

For everyone blaming Luongo for letting in so many goals, how about the amount Haby has let n this series? Lots of bad goals leading from bad plays on both sides. Everyone has bad nights, whether you're Luongo, Gretzky, or Orr. The only problem is that he had a bad night during the wrong game. All the Lu bashing makes me ashamed to be a Canuck fan, especially if it means it associates me with those idiots.

SkinnyPupp 05-11-2009 10:14 PM

Yeah, both goalies sucked equally. Well almost equally.. One of them let by 23% of the shots he faced tonight...

Lomac 05-11-2009 10:17 PM

So one bad night requires half of you to call for his head, despite all of the good he's done up to this series? Right...

SkinnyPupp 05-11-2009 10:22 PM

Who said anything about calling for his head? Without Luongo, maybe the Canucks wouldn't have won the NW championship. They wouldn't have made the playoffs. They wouldn't have gotten past the Blues. And maybe they wouldn't have let in 7 goals in game 6... who knows?

You can't give a guy nothing but GOOD criticism.

DanHibiki 05-11-2009 10:24 PM

OMG 1 BAD PLAY BY MITCHELL HE IS A HORRIBLE PLAYER TRADE HIM

OMG 1 BAD GAME BY LU TRADE HIM

OMGZZZZZZ

idiots.

trip 05-11-2009 10:24 PM

lets face it, he wasnt great tonight but he carried our team before and at the stretch of this season

iwantaskyline 05-11-2009 10:32 PM

Twins showed up and so did the rest of the forwards. Anyone who is still bashing Daniel and Henrik are out of their minds...They carried the team these playoffs. Chicago's speed and tenacity exploited the nucks slow and careless d-men.

We can pretty much assume today was Ohlund's last game as a nuck. I hope Gillis can lure Jay-Bo here this summer and resign the twins. Canucks needed that puck moving d-men this series. Can't rely on Salo since he is injured every game and a half.

Thanks for the 11 years Ohlie.
