You can't give a guy nothing but GOOD criticism.

'Twas meant to be a blanket statement toward the idiots calling in on the radio and talking on the Canucks forums... many of which are bashing him so badly that you'd think Luongo simply stood beside the net the entire season and offered to throw the puck across the line for each player that came up to him.

Give the guy his due... he got stormed a couple times this game and even got slashed across the neck/face/somewhere up there, and yet he was still wanting to finish the game. Perhaps this was his downfall as he could have been sporting some sort of injury that he was trying to hide... but, then again, maybe not.

Blah im tired of the "it was a good run we did better than expected there's always next year" bullshit, I just want one god damn cup and i'll shut the hell up forever.

I guess we'll be like the Boston Red Sox of hockey, we'll get one eventually, it just might take 86 years.

We gave it our best. I'm happy for the excitement the boys gave us and through good or bad I take comfort in knowing their loss was not for a lack of effort. They gave it their all tonight.

The most painful part of tonight's game for me was that it's most likely Mattias Ohlund's last game as a Canuck.

http://proathletesonly.com/news/wp-c...tiasohlund.jpg

I'll always remember the Canuck's all-time leader amongst defencemen as a sign of stability. He had the ability to score a game-breaking goal and to lay down crushing body-checks.

#2 - You will be sorely missed.

People who watch a few games in the playoffs are the ones blaming Lu, typical bandwagon fans. I’ve been listening to the callers on the radio and I’m fucking embarrassed with some of these so called “fans”. Lu carried this team the entire season, without him the Canucks were near the bottom of the conference and would have been fighting with the Avs and Islanders for the top pick so before some of you want to act cute with the beach ball pictures and call out Lu please get your shit straight.

Ch28 05-11-2009 10:45 PM

Whether he re-signs or not...I'll always proudly sport my Ohlund jersey no matter what.

Gonna miss the guy but damn was he a work horse :bowdown::bowdown:

DanHibiki 05-11-2009 10:46 PM

Ohlund has been my favorite player for the longest time. Only regret is not going to his signing to get him to sign my Ohlund jersey. I'll miss him. But if him leaving means bringing in Bouwmeester. ALL ABOARD!!

BlackV62K2 05-11-2009 10:47 PM

I would like to see Ohlund retire as a Canuck. But he'll probably be asking for more than we can afford.

fliptuner 05-11-2009 10:49 PM

Thanks for an exciting season Canucks.

We had a legitimate shot this year.

Sadly, I'll be shaving tomorrow. :(

Wow never would have thought this game would turn into a shootout. Luongo was definitely not good 2nite at all but I won't put any blame on him for us losing the series. If our best players outside of Luongo was being our best players we probably wouldn't have been in a game 6 today facing elimination. Sedins basically did nothing, Burrows disappeared, Kesler wasn't great, Sundin was too little too late, and the list goes on. Perhaps the 10 day break really did fuck us over as we were never the same as we were in Round 1 in any way shape or form. Do I consider this season a failure? Yes I do but regardless I'm still proud to be a Canucks fan.

Now the questions are what will be look like this year. Sedins to stay or leave? Ohlund? I think our future is still pretty bright. Burrows, Kesler, and Hoghson seem like a bright future for us. Well assuming Kesler gets resigned. Well signing out for now and will talk about it later. Peace

OK, season review: i saw 7 games live this year.

keep in mind i said in my pre-season post we would not advance past 2nd round and that we need a premier frontline player i.e I'd rather pay campbell 7.5 mil than Lou.

1. our D is slow and can't bring it up ice. ohlund is gone. too bad. he was my fav back in the day. he is too slow for the NHL now. i wouldn't be surprised to see him in Sweden next season or a year after
2. Luongo should be traded for a premier player in the offseason. he has won how many playoff series or championships at any level in his life? if we get the current Sweden netminder this summer, this MAY come true.
3. sedins are a nice SECOND line. re-sign at 6 mil each? forget about it.

Until Vancouver gets a solid CANADIAN 1st line and a mobile D, there is never going to be a parade in this city.

see you next season!

RTS 05-11-2009 10:53 PM

ohh and Pyatt. nice guy, the girls like him, but dude is painfully slow to watch.

UFA. he's gone.

Xnova 05-11-2009 10:56 PM

soo does anybody knows where teh team year end sale is going to be?

Durrann1984 05-11-2009 10:59 PM

Im going to miss this thread

Harvey Specter 05-11-2009 11:02 PM

I guess we can keep this thread going until the cup finals?

hypediss 05-11-2009 11:07 PM

cue in jay bouw to vancouver rumours again?

tonyvu 05-11-2009 11:08 PM

it was a good run boys...

rb 05-11-2009 11:12 PM

twas a good thread/discussion/year. I'm gonna miss Ohlund and maybe even Larscheid. Bah, this all still hurts like a mother fuck right now. Every year, its like going through a horrible break up when the Canuck season is done.

marc0lishuz 05-11-2009 11:23 PM

So how many people think Alain Vigneult is sticking around for the 09/10 season?

I see a coaching change coming up.

I was pretty disappointed when Gillis stuck with him instead of going for Quenneville when he was available.

AzNightmare 05-11-2009 11:41 PM

But what makes Quenneville a better coach? I mean maybe, but we wouldn't know.
But if Canucks would have an offensive coach, I'm all up for that.

StylinRed 05-11-2009 11:47 PM

its not the coaches fault... how many coaches have nucks been through?

owners need to realize that

Ludepower 05-11-2009 11:50 PM

Sedins gotta go...they aint top tier players...solid second liners. Coaching has to change...AV's boring trap and dump doesn't work.

I only made this funny picture in relation to Game 6.

Harvey Specter 05-11-2009 11:51 PM

I don't mind AV and the players don't seem to mind him, I wish he's back as head coach. In my honest opinion the Canucks only need a few minor tweaks and we're good to go.
