Rumour is Burke is closing in on a deal with Tampa for the 2nd round pick.

mickz 05-12-2009 05:50 PM

Didn't hear any rumors about Burke closing in on a deal, only reports that Tampa has made an offer to Toronto. It's a pretty one sided deal and I'm sure there's lots of profanity being offered by Burke to the other party. It's going to take ALOT more than what's being offered to get Luke Schenn out of Toronto.

Tavares/Hedman >>> Schenn

Maple Ridge native Andrew Ladd is banned from Roosters for life, according to a reader board above the country caberet in Pitt Meadows the morning after the Chicago Blackhawks eliminated the Vancouver Canucks from the NHL playoffs. The Blackhawks forward scored the game-winning goal in overtime of Game 4 last week. He also assisted on the tying goal in that game and was a physical presence throughout the series.

:haha:

Razor Ramon HG 05-12-2009 07:46 PM

Might as well ban Brouwer, Seabrook & Fraser

clowe 05-12-2009 07:54 PM

I saw on Hockey Central that the Lightning want Kaberle, Schenn and the Leafs 7th overall pick for their 2nd overall pick

6thGear. 05-12-2009 07:56 PM

Seabrooke is from Tsawwassen and believe me, if the Hawks win the cup, the whole town would congratulate him. His dad is pretty well known around Tsawwassen and Ladner

Hondaracer 05-12-2009 08:14 PM

Ladd brought the cup to stone temple when carolina won it

Gh0stRider 05-12-2009 08:21 PM

fucking bullshit calls. fucking ref's

BlackV62K2 05-12-2009 09:19 PM

Wow, every team pushed to game 7.......except us. Sigh!

Harvey Specter 05-12-2009 09:55 PM

Burke told Luke Schenn not to worry because he's not been traded.

dL 05-12-2009 09:55 PM

^ Yep. Canucks fail.

Schenn is clearly the player Burke wants to build the team around. Regardless of how talented Tavares or Hedman are, they have 0 NHL experience and it would be a huge risk to trade their defenseman of the future for the right to pick either player.

Schenn, Kaberle and the 7th overall pick is too steep a price to pay just to move up 5 spots. If Tavares is taken first overall don't expect Burke to attempt to move up and get Hedman since that's not the man he's after. The Leafs arent in that bad of a spot right now and they'll still be able to pick up a good player like Brayden Schenn or Evander Kane.

Depends when you get in. If you're in the sale within the first 10-15 minutes you can pick up some pretty decent gear. $75 for $200 gloves or $200 sticks is significant savings for me.

I think Bernier is a must in terms of re-signing. He still has the potential to be that scorer that we all hope he would be and if not, hey, he's still an AWESOME 3rd line checker who can chip in 15-18 goals.

He's not worth the $2.5 mil price tag.

As Roberto Luongo sat on the visitor’s bench in the United Centre shortly after the Vancouver Canucks were eliminated from the playoffs in a 7-5 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks, he had a look of remorse etched underneath the mask still securely fastened to his head.

With a 3.50 goals-against average and an. 879 save percentage in the playoffs, fans clearly didn’t see Luongo at full potential.

Despite the number of records posted in the regular-season as an NHL goalie in his career, his futile attempts to lift his team past the second round—albeit only having two opportunities to do so with the Canucks in the postseason—has also afflicted his being.

Where are these numbers coming from?
He had a .914 save percentage and 2.52 GAA this playoffs and career numbers of .930% and 2.09 in the playoffs.

No obviously not but the only reason why he got that was cause the Blues GM was getting back at Gillis for doing the same.

Those were probably his numbers in the Chicago series alone.

Yeah because we all know that the blame game is played out of popularity and not of reason?

Let's see:

*** Wellwood was held to a lot of responsibility for the team's struggles early in the season despite being a 3rd liner getting paid $1 million and playing pluggers minutes. Yet the people who are paid 3x his salary who also contributed to those struggles were laid blameless and at best, Luongo was just given a passing mention?

*** Naslund gets run out of town for not being a 50 goal scorer he once was at $6 million a year. Yet the lack of success doesn't seem to apply to Luongo. Yes Luongo couldn't do it all but neither did Naslund (yet the fans expected nothingless from Naslund). Oh wait, it's Roberto freakin' Luongo.

*** Yeah, it's no big deal to lose Ohlund and criticize Edler, but lets exempt Willie Mitchell despite being severely overrated. There's a reason why he plays with a league-reputable longer stick and plays a stay-at-home style defence because he has a lot of skill & speed to compensate for. But you know, those other guys got nothing on this BC boy.

Seriously, it's one thing to support your local team, but it's another to be a homer.

L-Dawg 05-13-2009 04:54 AM

does anyone actually know when the equipment sale is? Where can we find out?
