Good eye, sleeve was blackwater but since Jesse is a douchebag I switched to Jay. Solid guy and real talented.

zilley 06-30-2014 03:58 PM

The inference being that they both work at Blackwater, and he switched from one artist to the other.

If that wasn't the inference then it was just poor grammar :)

Wow , nice work

jay owns trigger happy

anyways, recently i keep hearing stories of jesse being a dick and a junkie. could anyone fill me in why, from personal experience or from friends. i was planning to get some work done from him soon, but now im having second thoughts

dlo 07-04-2014 11:44 AM

lol, theres always rumours of tattoo artists using some kind of substance to have a steady arm, blah blah blah, jesse has a different sense of humour that may rub off wrong on people, hes a pree cool guy IMO, going in today for my consultation and tattoo in 10 days!! countdown begins hehehe

I've seen Jesse 5 times now with 1 negative experience when he basically ripped into me for being 5mins late (I had a good reason and apologized the moment I arrived and also called ahead telling him what was going on)

He's high on respect of his time. His personality can be odd, like Dlo said his sense of humour and the way he carries himself can really rub off the wrong way on people. He's really actually a decent guy but YMMV because like I said, he'll really rub off the wrong way with some people and it could get ugly.

just had my consultation with jesse and we traded plenty of ideas and both think this will be a fun piece to do, cant wait :D will post up a photo of the stencil in 10 days haha

I'm obsessed with Steve Wiebe's work right now. Dying for a sleeve or something. I got at least 8 more hours left on my back and already planning something new. Given that he books pretty far in advance perhaps I'm not too far off obsessing now :considered:

Hondaracer 07-04-2014 08:00 PM

im also tempted to contact Steve Wiebe

thing is, it seems like there are a shit load of artists in Cali who are as good, if not better than steve, and are seemingly looking to book appointments in their instagrams, etc.

thing with going to cali is, if i cant sit through a half sleeve in one session, i'll have to go back down..

That's where I'm at as well. I'm always into bigger pieces that require multiple visits so local is key for me.

SkinnyPupp 07-04-2014 10:34 PM

Sounds about right , it comes down to the details in the subject and speed of the artist.

yeah I don't know where any of this is coming from
from my personal experience jesse is really into his health and fitness thing. he does a whole lot of running and hes actually really fast. maybe he was a junkie in the past?? idk but he sounded pretty serious when he told me he would never do any of that stuff because health is so important to him lol unless his view in life suddenly changed. pretty nice guy, but I think his mood changes really quick like as if hes bipolar
