My sister is pretty good friends with her so when a spot opens she calls her right away. She also has another appointment booked for July I think it is.

Looking at Jeff's work...it seems super aggressive. Can he do more calm(?) Like the picture I posted?

Unless he's a one trick pony, he should be able to accommodate.

For me I would choose an artist based on the style they excel at.

Lots of artists do Japanese just not all of it traditional. If you want someone to create a piece for you then look at their previous work and see if that is the type of thing you want. If you are doing a full back piece as your first tattoo, good luck. Be prepared that it is going to take a while.

Be prepared for it to cost a shit ton, take a long ass time and most likely hurt like a mutha fucka in certain areas. If you are OK with all of that then you are good to go

beauty is pain :agree:

Regarding choosing which Japanese artist to go with I was really into Jeff tams work before I got my hannya but his wait list was retarded at that time so I ended up looking around some more and went to Logan Howard. Looking through some of his work I personally liked the look a lot. But honestly I didn't do as much research as I should've regarding tradition vs non traditional. But I'm in the same boat still and don't know who's work I like better for my next jap piece. They're 2 guys from strictly and Jeff tam plus a couple other guys I've heard get passed around, I'll have to do more homework plus save more cause I want my next piece to either start my sleeve or something to put on the other side on my hannya which I'm having serious problems with, I don't want it to just be a random piece but something that goes with it... Any suggestions would be nice.

Brighter note I know I've said this before but due to reschedules and what not finally got a for sure date. Seeing Jesse strong to finish my chest in 2 weeks :)

Stoked, going in for consultation with Ormiston face to face tomorrow.
Hope his wait list wont be too long.

zilley 06-07-2014 12:32 PM

FUAAAKKKK, artist has arrived!

time to get started on my back.

Alpine50 06-20-2014 03:36 PM

Damnnnn this ink hurt. Normally I can handle it but Jessie just went IN on me, took like no breaks he just kept going, even told me that he was just grinding it out bc we where kinda short time and he had to leave by 6 ish so he blasted my left side, all te shading and my hands are done on my left chest set up another appointment in aug to finally finish it all off, looks so much better now that the hands are filled.

Got a quick question he told me to scrub the hell outta it after I take the cover off but I fuckin passed out and didn't have a chance till this morning when I got up for work. You think that's really going to damage the heeling process? Ima do the same thing when I go home and shower then start applying what I need to on it. So far all my other tattoos have healed fine. This the first time I didn't wash it after the time he said so I got kinda worried.

Fafine 06-20-2014 03:59 PM

Doubt you passed out for longer than 24 hours
So youre fine as long as you cleaned it in the morning and with hot water

guurl 06-20-2014 05:53 PM

I would definitely go colour. It would go well with your skin tone. Although be prepared for a world of pain and money
