If you were thinking of getting it in photo-realistic portrait style, it looks like he's the right man for the job. I don't know if that's all he does, or all he puts on his portfolio though

Not sure what a wu tang ninja looks like, so...

murd0c 09-02-2013 09:30 PM

basically I want him to play with the 36 chambers album cover and the members in the masks and black hoodies. I've been following him on IG for a while and his realistic style is fucken nice but not sure if he would want to do something like this. I like him as well since he knows hiphop and would have the vision to take it to a different level hopefully

SkinnyPupp 09-02-2013 09:33 PM

Yeah something like that might be a waste of his talents.. not that it's a bad design choice per se, just not really making use of what he has to offer. A more comic-ish style might work better for that, IMO

i have an appointment lock in with him in vancouver. how did he feel about doing your piece? have you seen his recent piece/drawing of big with brooklyn city as his crown? Something that that would be right up his alley.

Have you booked your appointment yet or still talking? last i talk to him his spots are all full?

SkinnyPupp 09-02-2013 10:13 PM

I was gonna say, if a good chicano/black grey artist is coming to Van, I bet anything that threezero has an appointment ;)

I think you best talk to him about his pricing but I can tell you he does not charge by the hour and does have a 4 figure minimum

thanks and I'm not surprised at all, someone with his talents would of course charge by the piece and not by the hour.

Tbh there are alot of other more talented artist that works in the same style in LA. he probably wouldn't be my first choice if LA is more accessible to me lol. But I have to say he price is very decent and he still does la Chicano style like no other locally (on this note I actually discover a Chicano style artist In vancouver will give him a try the next time I have money for tattoos). I'm very surpirse he doesn't charge more considering his celebrity status have tattoo big names in the hip hop industry

Unless he wants to ONLY have celebrity customers, I doubt he'd be able to charge more

Hey Guys,

I've been following this thread for awhile now and figured would get your guy's input. I'm looking to get my first piece, my daughter's name, on my chest near the heart. I wanted to keep it black and gray but did want to keep it simple but artsy (if that makes any sense).

I know lots of artist are good at scripts, but who would you recommend. I dont mind spending the extra $$$ but want a nice clean tattoo. I've done some research and Richard Vega at Adrenaline seems like a good artist. Any inputs on him or any other recommendations?

Thank in advance guys, any help is appreciated!!

threezero 09-03-2013 05:53 PM

For Script goto jesse strong at steveston tattoo check his Instagram mrjessestrong. He's the only guy in vancouver I would goto for script

Here's my little guy!

http://distilleryimage4.ak.instagram...0a1f9860_7.jpg

This was my first time being tattooed with a rotary machine and it's trippy as fuck that it doesn't make any sound at all. Also it is MUCH less painful. I swear I could barely feel it at times - the wiping hurt more than the tattooing. It was like being scratched rather than being pounded by a needle. Weird but awesome :D

The shading was done with all black ink, no grey, so it's like little dots. Can't wait to see what it looks like healed

phantom x 09-05-2013 07:19 AM

Nice work!.. Yes the rotary is so quite !, i have my sitting today at noone
